Make an early start and depart from central Dublin for your full-day tour of Ireland’s western wonders. Soak up the scenery on the approximately 2.5-hour drive, including a short stop to grab a coffee or an Irish breakfast roll (own expense) along the way.
Arrive in Galway and set off down the coast towards the Cliffs of Moher. Jump out to snap photos of the striking Dunguaire Castle, a 16th-century tower perched on the seafront just north of Kinvara. Continue to Ballyvaughan and follow your guide around the remains of an early Celtic fort, before stopping at Poulnabrone Dolmen, one of Ireland’s oldest religious sites, dating back some 5,800 years.
Make a last stop in Kilfenora to see the Celtic High Crosses, before arriving in Doolin. Enjoy free time to explore the quaint fishing village and tuck into some lunch – perhaps try the famous seafood chowder at Gus O'Conner's, then pick up some delicious fudge from the Doolin Chocolate Shop.
With your appetite sated, make a beeline for the day’s star attraction, the Cliffs of Moher, and enjoy ample time to walk along the 702-foot (214-meter) tall cliffs and gaze out over the rugged Atlantic coast. Continue the jaw-dropping views as you drive the scenic Coast Road back to Galway, affording picture-perfect views of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay.
Depart Galway at around 6:30pm for the journey back to Dublin and arrive back in the city at approximately 9pm.
