What To Expect

Itinerary

After arriving to Ceiba we will begin with a 25-30 minute hike, that includes a brief river trek. Once entered at the skirts of the forest you will have a complete off the beaten path experience where you will have climb thru rocks and trees to reach the pristine natural pools and waterfalls. Here you can also swing from a rope or cliff jump. We will spend some time here before proceeding to the next stop, a more advanced hike to higher natural pools that leads to the exciting natural waterslides. We then have to return thru the same off beaten path, sometimes returning by water (swimming) is an option too.

During all this time your certified guide will share important information about the only tropical rainforest in the US Forest System, as well as interesting facts about Puerto Rico's culture and history, while ensuring you have a safe, fun and knowledgable experience.

After the tour ends we will stop at a local restaurant for a late lunch (food cost not included), before returning to San Juan or your initial meeting point.

Stop At:

• El Yunque Rain Forest, El Yunque National Forest Puerto Rico

Would recommend this adventure to anyone visiting Puerto Rico! It is not an easy hike and be prepared to get very muddy and wet. Must be moderately active and fit to get through this tour as it has you climbing very steep muddy trails and light rock climbing. Again one of the best things we ever did during our vacation. The tour guides were fantastic, learned a lot of things about the rainforest!

Our tour guide Fernando was amazing. Great knowledge and lots of fun. His aide Mitchell was also very good. Beautiful scenery. I will highly recommend them both.

My wife and I have never felt like we were in our 40's, until experiencing this adventure! What an intense workout, and thrilling experience! Hector and Ponce were wonderful guides, and always offered some type of cool local information about El Yunque. Plus, they helped us navigate a ton of muddy and rocky terrain in a wet environment. We felt safe, secure, and entertained. The thrills of natural waterslides, cliff jumping, tarzan ropes etc need to be experienced. Just make sure that you are in good physical shape, as this trip is not for the weak. Tip these guys, well. They earn every penny!

Everything we hoped for!

This was an amazing experience; it was everything we hoped for! Our main guide, Hector, was incredible. He had so much knowledge about the rainforest and showed us awesome plants and creatures throughout the hike. Both he and our second guide, Mitchell, did a great job keeping everyone safe at the swimming sites and on the trail. Hector communicated well with us about pick-up time and place and was punctual. I have no complaints; this was a wonderful experience from start to finish. If you want to see El Yunque, this is the way to do it!

My wife and I stayed in San Juan for a week for our honeymooon, and this tour was by far our favorite part of the trip. Hector was an amazing tour guide and was always able to make us laugh as well as keep us safe and informed. We were picked up from the Caribe Hilton in San Juan and had a great trip over to the rainforest, with Hector pointing out interesting landmarks and giving us a history of the island and its people. The rainforest itself was beautiful and we had so much fun hiking and sliding down natural water slides! The tour guides provided us with fruit in the middle of the hike, including pineapple, papaya, guava, and the best mango I've ever tasted! It was a fairly easy and very fun hike, and I'd recommend it for people of all ages. My wife and I can't wait to go back to Puerto Rico and take this tour again!
