Day 1: Frankfurt - Rothenburg
Depart from Frankfurt for a picturesque drive through the Spessart mountains to Wuerzburg, on the banks of the river Main. Continue along the Romantic Road to Rothenburg Ob der Tauber, Germany's well-preserved 'Jewel of the Middle Ages', with its ramparts, city gates and town hall. See the Jakobskirche (church) with an altar built by the famous wood-carver, Tilman Riemenschneider. Upon arrival in Rothenburg, a taxi will take you to your hotel. In the afternoon or evening join the city walk with a local guide or historic Night Watchman in Rothenburg.

Overnight: Hotel Spitzweg or similar

Day 2: Rothenburg - Hohenschwangau (B)
After breakfast, a taxi will meet you at your hotel and take you to the bus stop. Your coach drives along the Romantic Road passing such the picturesque villages of Dinkelsbuhl, Nordlingen and Donauworth with their high gabled houses and cobbled stone streets. You'll arrive in Hohenschwangau via Augsburg a metropolis for trade during the middle ages.

Overnight: Hotel Muller or similar

Day 3: Hohenschwangau - Munich (B)
Your entrance tickets for the Neuschwanstein Castle are waiting for you at the front desk of your hotel. Visit the famous 'Cinderella Castle', built by King Ludwig II. This castle brings back memories of children's fairy tale stories. A breathtaking sight in the Pollat River gorge, the castle was well equipped with revolutionary (at that time) technical devices. In the late afternoon you'll continue to Munich, where your tour ends at approximately 7.00pm.

What an amazing tour and a great way to start our vacation with so many beautiful sites to see. We enjoyed every stop and were transported back in time. Neuschwanstein castle and grounds were beautiful. Very organized and made the most of our time. Would highly recommend.

Saw and learned about many things but on our own as there was no commentary except on the Grayline portion of the trip from Hohenschwangau to Munich 2 hours. It was very disappointing to ride on a bus that was not a 'tour' bus. Several people got on and off as they might on a regular city bus. Had there been an opportunity for commentary it would have felt more like a tour.
Your description of this tour was very deceiving.

This tour was amazing!

, Sep 2017

The first day was nothing more than a bus ride with no tour guide but with a audio guide that only played music. We had several 15 minute
stops but were never told anything about the location we were visiting. The second day was a repeat of the first day except we did not have the audio guide. The first two days were not at all what we anticipated on the Romantic Road tour. On day three we completed the trip with a Grayline tour that took us to Munich. This tour had a guide that shared her knowledge and history of the area in which we were traveling. This is what we expected on the entire tour.

The hotels chosen in the cities were GREAT but the drivers DID NOT SPEAK english!!!! So it was hard to understand them in case of doubts! They would not tell us where we would stop ! in one of the stops was my stop and i did not know that! we were supposed to follow the FOLDER WHICH WAS NOT MENTIONED! At least if they advise us to look at the folder the entire trip It would be easier!!! To be honest I was completely Lost!!!!!!

Overall, this type of tour was fine. Don't expect a tour guide - bring headsets to avoid purchasing on board and know they require a passport to borrow the information box - which had minimal information. During our 3 days we had a variety of busses and bus drivers - some better than others. Our first bus smelled really bad coming from the toilet and the driver honked and yelled a lot. The other busses and drivers were fine. We made some planned and unplanned stops on the way - at times we had no information of what town we were in not on the travel plan we were given but we had 15-20 minutes to explore. I would consider this type of tour no-frills more of a transportation bus than a tour. Our hotels were nice and located well within the towns. I would suggest this company for a well travelled individual an give it an average rating.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE, NOT RECOMMENDED. We are tourists, need information, the driver was supposed to announce and play tapes of the cities we visited, the driver would not even announce the cities we were passing or arriving, so we missed the city we were supposed to stay. I called the office and let them know what happened. They called the driver by the way, laughing and mocking is a universal language so I could understand that it was funny for them what happened to us and he was supposed to take us to the train station, instead he tried to get rid of us by getting us on a taxi. With that attitude, we took our own taxi to the train station but we could not get back by train I can write why and the whole experience if you need more info and we had to take a cab back that cost us a lot of money. We arrived late at Rothenburg and missed the last tour. The next day we were supposed to visit 3 cities and we got only 2. They say it was our responsibility to know where to get off the bus, really?? We do not speak german and do not know the area, that is why we took a tour, otherwise we would have gone on our own. As I said, the driver never even mentioned where we were. They do not even recognize their responsibility on the bad job they did and blame everything on us. It was a long and bad experience that it would be too long to explain here. I have all the emails I exchange with this company, receipts, etc. that I can share, my email is

If anybody wants to go to Rothemburg and Neuschwanstein, please, go by yourselves, it would be less expensive and the same experience. Your bus driver would probably be as helpful as the drivers of this tour who conveniently forget how to speak english when problems arise.

The first day was well organised. The hotels very good and taxis all waiting to connect to the buses. But the bus connection was late in picking us up from Rothenburg and the driver had no knowledge about the audio that was supposed to be available. To top it off, the bus from the castle back to Munich did not eventuate and a small group of us were left waiting for some time. Fortunately the muller hotel manager organised a tour bus to get back to Munich! He did a wonderful job in assisting us.

We enjoyed this tour. The hotel we stayed at in Rothenburg was nice and the food in the restaurant was excellent. It was also close to the hotel. We had two different drivers on the tour. The driver the first day did not speak English very well so he didn't speak except to tell us how long we had in each location. The tour is supposed to come with headphones but he never gave us any so we had to guess what was going on by looking on our smartphones. Very unorganized. the second day was much better. The driver explained things to us and gave us headphones so we could listen to the description of the towns we would be stopping at. It was a long day but very good. the hotel we stayed at in Neuschwanstein was great. The bus dropped us off in front of the hotel. The castle was the best part of the trip for us.

Great trip, interesting and fun with just enough guidance without the rush and structure of other tours. Hotels and points of interest were all 5 star quality.
Only recommendation is to make sure driver offers everyone audio guides in addition to apps. Best part of our trip to Germany .
