4 Days Nile Cruise Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel with Train Tickets from Cairo

I've never been in a 5 star hotel, but our room was better than we expected after reading the reviews. The food was unbelievable amazing (we had breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner), the beds were comfortable, we had a bathtub, a nice view and everything was clean and comfortable. There was also a swimming pool with a bar on the roof top. The staff from the cruise was really nice and joyfull As we went during a bad storm and also in the begging of the Covid-19 crisis, we had some problems. Our tour had to be postponed 1 day because the government cancelled all the trains due to the bad weather. As I had a flight back home in the last day from cairo, Love Egypt helped me to arrange a flight from Aswan to Cairo, transport to the airport and all the support to make me feel comfortable. My friends had to buy a new flight in the last day and they needed to take a train earlier than scheduled, so the agency also arranged it for them, with all transports necessary. Even with all the problems, we received a really good support from the company to help us with everything we needed, even tho it was not their obligation to arrange all these extra services for us. Our first guide, Gada, was really nice and knowledgeable. As she was pregnant, she could not join us in the cruise, but we met other nice guides at the following cities. I can't thank you enough for the experience and all the support you provided! It was an unforgettable time for us

This package was extremely good value so if you are looking for an inexpensive trip this can work. We booked this package as it included the day trip to Abu Simbel (a must if you go to southern Egypt) and the train to and from Cairo. Great value!!! Unfortunately, communications in advance of the trip were vague, repetitive and not very helpful. Pick ups were late both in Cairo and Aswan. We were really looking forward to the Nile cruise part after Abu Simbel but, unfortunately, we were put on a German ship with two German tour groups. In addition, we then followed the itinerary of the German tour groups. These groups had already gone to Edfu so we did NOT go to Edfu (which was supposed to be one of the best preserved ruins in all of Egypt) and was on our itinerary. No explanation or apology for changing the itinerary or putting us on a German ship. We did go to Esna instead which was fascinating but not convinced it was better than Edfu. Our tour guide for Aswan, Philae Kom Ombo, Esna, Karnak and Luxor was the same person and she was excellent. Same for our driver and the minivan they drove us around in. So if the cruise is important to you, look for other suppliers that will tell you in advance what ship you will be on and what group you will be with. If not, this package is excellent value to cover almost all of the key sites in Southern Egypt.

Overall this was a great experience. The best part was our guide, Ramzy. My advice to western travelers is to adjust your expectations a little. You get no choice on the boat you will be assigned, and the boat we were on was a little shabby and undergoing a few minor renovations while we were passengers, which meant we had to move cabins (which was no big deal). The liquor from the bar was half water, so we stuck to bottled beer. The food was outstanding and there were plenty of choices for us (one vegetarian one pescatarian). The outings to different sights were very well organized and enjoyable, and again, our guide was knowledgeable and very proud of the history of his country. We were well taken care of from the beginning to the end. Paying for our sleeper train tickets became a little complicated, I would hope that in the future viator will make this a smoother transaction for tourists, but we had very good communication with love Egypt tours, so everything worked out. So a few little hiccups, but overall a good value for the money, and our guide Ramzy was terrific and so accommodating. This is coming from a couple (f 39, m 43) who like to globe-trot, and typically do NOT do organized tours, and we were overall very satisfied with is portion of our Middle East adventure.

Pro - really smart guide and drivers were good. Clean transportation. Saw enough sites. Con - a little chaotic on communication about itinerary. Main gripe was (‘5 star boat’ - who actually rates these?). Tired and worn boat, with ultra bland food. No way ahead of time to know which boat you will be put on. Good experience overall

We absolutely LOVED the sights AND the tour guides on this trip. They were ALL great and their English was quite good and clear! Our first guide, Bishoy, was very knowledgeable and helpful. Hatem taught us well, too, and was most involved. He made sure we got to the train station early (to the exact car) even though his son had a dental emergency that night! The boat and room weren't 5 stars, but clean and nice.The food was pretty good and nice variety; we loved the people running the buffet and the nice man in the shop area. The lady masseuse was sweet & excellent. You could tell she really cared to bring comfort and resolve issues. I was disappointed we didn't get to go back to her the next day, which leads me to a couple of complaints: When we found out we had to check out of our room on the boat by noon the last day, even though our train to Cairo didn't leave until 11pm, we were surprised! But, we thought, "That's okay... we'll just sit in the lounge and read, get another massage, enjoy the sunny pool area and pay for an extra meal at the buffet. It will work out to not have a room." But, instead, they transported us to a 2-3 star hotel for day use that wasn't too great. It was an adjustment and unnecessary work for them AND us. We would have loved just hanging out on the boat!! Also,the placement of Abu Simbel temples on the very FIRST day... We had arrived on the cruise exhausted because of problems in Chicago, causing a missed flight. I had specifically chosen this trip over a different one because they HAD placed the 4:00am departure for Abu Simbel LATE in the trip itinerary, which I felt was advantageous in case of jet lag. Well, they MOVED IT to the very FIRST day! Plus, they had the evening of dancing the same night!!! No one had energy to dance after waking that early! Late the next morning when I tried to get extra sleep there was a small boat hooked onto the cruise ship. For over an hour during my 'nap', they yelled continually outside of our 'peaceful' view and window, selling things to people on the upper deck! This shouldn't be!! Lastly, the sleeping compartment on the train is NOT part of the trip price and is EXTREMELY jolty, like an old wooden roller coaster! Conductors/attendants were awesome, but poor sleep caused problems!! Definitely, take the plane!! Thanks, Viator, for being there to take us every step of the way and for the great overall price and experience for all we did and saw!! Will book w/you again!!

Actually can not find words to Express my feeling,for me this happen only few times in my life,I have mixed feeling about this trip,first of all I highly would like to thank every one,mr aly the tour operator who was so kind and helpful,I can not forget that he invited me in his home in Luxor last day in my trip for lunch,I met his family they were so generous and so kind with me,our representative mody who was always in touch with us to make sure that we enjoy our time,he brought for us herbs and spices as gift from him which was realy nice from him,Ramsey our tour guide such a great person with much knowledge of the Egyptian history and culture,he took us to Egyptian wedding so we can know more about the culture,mr taib the manager of samerames cruise who was always smiley and offer his full attention to our needs,for me it was the best 4 days since long time ago,we felt welcoming from the first pick up time in our hotel in Cairo,I felt like I was one of the family,i will never forget the nice treatment and the great hospitality from all the team,I would give this 10 stars from all my heart,I will always support them,they made me feel exceptional feeling.thank you so much for making my holiday so special

We loved our Tour with Ramses, he really kept things going, was so friendly and knowledgeable. The cruise ship was clean and the food was great, the last day could have been a bit more organized, the communication between the boat and tour needs tweaked, the check in staff was a little rude but other than that the tour part was fantastic. We saw all the sites and even made sure we got on train okay.

Initial thoughts in my head were not to do a tour, but this particular itinerary was almost the same as I would have made for myself, and it did so at a good price. Words alone can’t express the feeling of being in Egypt. It’s such a marvelous place, full of history and kind-hearted people. Only thing I would say I absolutely did not enjoy was the “sleeper seat” train from Cairo to Aswan. It was dirty, noisy, and uncomfortable. The A/C worked okay through the night, until the last couple of hours as we approached Aswan in the early afternoon (our train was very late leaving Cairo). I would say forget about the cheap train ticket, and book your own train on a Ernst/Waytania sleeping car. My ticket one way from Luxor to Cairo was $80 US, and was clean and comfortable. Guides were where they were supposed to be, and I was met at the train from Cairo to Aswan by Michael, an affable fellow who took our group to the Aswan High Dam and the temple of Philae at dusk, which is a beautiful spot and great time of day for photos. Don’t miss your opportunity to see the sights! Abu Simbel was an interesting excursion almost to the border with Sudan. We had a couple of hours and were among the earliest visitors, so at first it wasnt’t too crowded. Speak your heart’s desire on the cruise, and the crew of the Hapy 5 will make it happen! I loved the boat and found every one of the crew to be genuine and welcoming. A special shokran to Mahmoud in the dining room and Mustafa in reception/housekeeping (loved the towel animals). English was the primary language, but there was an interesting mix of nationalities present on board. The crew was 100% Egyptian, smiling and hardworking. But the boat was only part of the story! Ramsi was our guide from Aswan to Luxor. With him, we Hit the major ruins including Edfu, Kom Ombo, with its unusual dual dedication to Horus, the falcon god, and Sobek, the crocodile god. Also, once in Luxor, Karnak temple and Luxor temple. Do not miss these. Luxor by night was spectacular, as the ruins were bathed in the fading golden sunlight. You will find the package a good value, I’m sure. Up and down the Nile, the cruise boats and feluccas glide on the blue waters. For a great snapshot of classical Egypt, this is a wonderful itinerary. Tips to make your trip better: a hat, sunscreen, small bills for baksheesh, and get up early for the ruins. The morning light is beautiful. Eternally Egypt. Make your dream come true!

Our trip with Egyptlovetours left us with the best impression of Egypt. At first, we had no idea what to expect, save for the itinerary on the website. Instantly, we were greeted by the travel agency with confirmations about the trip details. Our transportation to and from the cruise ship was arranged for us - including the driver. Everyone was prompt, polite and extra hospitable as they even checked on us afterward to make sure we had made it to our destinations. As this was our first time in Egypt as non-Arabic speakers, we greatly appreciated the helpfulness and attentiveness. We were greeted right off the train by our guide, Mona, who even made sure to contact us beforehand and check on us during the train ride. She took us around the sites of Luxor, Aswan, Edfu, etc., and taught us about the history of ancient Egypt and its influences. She even explained the culture of the cities we visited. It was the most personal experience, which really allowed us to feel comfortable and have a more authentic experience. She was patient, as well as efficient - often timing our tours perfectly to accommodate our schedule or mood, while allowing us to avoid the crowds (which made for great photo ops). What really impressed us was the thoughtfulness - Mona and her travel agency really went out of their way to book last minute excursions for us, search prices for us and help us with the next step of our Egypt trip even though we would no longer be together. They even picked up our photos to personally deliver to us before our bus while we were soaking up our last moments in Luxor. As for the cruise itself, we were so taken aback by the hospitality of the crew at Tamerhann (CoralSea). From the minute we entered the ship, we greeted with smiles as if we were family. Throughout the cruise they made sure to check on us and were more than happy to accommodate us immediately for any request they had. We got to know each other on a first name basis by the end of the cruise. Overall, I would recommend Mona as the best tour guide - kind, funny and caring. We also appreciate Egyptlovetours for going above and beyond to help us plan the special moments and experiences we never dreamed of having.
