This was such a good tour and included so much. Our guide, Ibrahim was from one of the villages we visited. He was friendly and knowledgeable and his English was great. Mohammed was a fantastic driver too and also helped at various stops. We were picked up near our Riad which was not as close to the group meeting point. The drive was enjoyable and first stop was the camel ride. I thought it would be a short ride but it was 15-20 minutes and included tea and dressing up in traditional Berber outfits. We then stopped for a coup,e of photo opportunities on our way into the mountains. The next stop was for a small breakfast of tea and bread at an árgan oil cooperative, The women showed us the process of making cosmetic and food products from argan almonds. You could purchase items but there was no pressure. After driving a little higher in the Atlas mountains to another village, we went for a hike to a waterfall. It was an uphill hike but the trail was well maintained and Ibrahim checked often to make sure everyone was doing ok. We visited a traditional Berber home from the past and had tea and a snack of mixed nuts and cookies. The day ended with a meal of tajine and bread. It was a full day ending at about 6pm. We completely enjoyed this tour. The value for the money is tremendous! We highly recommend doing this tour if you visit Marrakech!
A day out that I would really really recommend to anyone coming to Marrakesh. so easy to book and arrange for the pick up from our hotel in an air conditioned mini bus there were 4 of us and 5 other people on our bus and our driver Hassan was friendly, very competent and made us feel very comfortable. Our guide Ibrahim Baha was absolutely lovely, professional, helpful, knowledgeable and funny, we had a good rapport with him and nothing was too much trouble he made sure we were all happy and cared for as well as letting us stop to take pictures or go to the toilet. The 1st stop was the camel ride with cookies and mint tea in a tent... this was really good and so well organised even if you don't do the actual camel ride it's a great experience, the journey out of Marrakech gave us chance to see so much more of the area, we then stopped at the Argon oil cooperative this was interesting and included breakfast of fresh hot bread and dips.. yummy. On arrival at the village we were carefully guided to the waterfalls, I'd say it was a 20 min or so walk some of it uphill. the only tip I would give is please take some sturdy shoes/trainers but if you didn't want to walk ponies were available.. it was a lovely walk, took lots of pics... the lunch.. wow this was good, tomato salad, bread & tagine (choice of vegetarian) and fruit to finish. back to the hotel... all round a great day relaxed, interesting and Ibrahim made it, I would give him 11 of of 10! thank you.
Although the scenery and transportation was good. The rest of the tour was a wasted day. Plenty of waiting around and being steered into "buying opportunities". The guide was a nice enough chap but explained very little and was totally unorganized. The walk to the small waterfall was through the back alleys of the village so we didn't see much of that either. I'm very disappointed as I took the glowing reviews from others as truth but I won't believe Viator or TripAdvisor reviews again.
Mountains, berber villages, food, waterfall, camel ride, tea with family were all great. We even had a surprise breakfast along the way in the morning. So much better value for money compared to what the hotel recommended which would have been just transport for double the price.Omar the tour guide was great and caring and helpful. Highly recommended.
Highly enjoyed this tour.
Ibraheem was our tour guide and was well informed and polite.
They picked us up on time from Aqua Fun.
We loved the camel ride and the dressing up for it.
The lunch was included and fresh and tasty.
Transport was air conditioned and clean.
A must do!
Lovely tour, you dont visit utterly crowded places like on another tours. Ahmed was a helpful guide, showing us the village of Imlil in Atlas mountains, where he personally grew up. If you like some hiking, not only riding a bus, this one is much recommended... And you will drink lot of Moroccan whiskey (mint tea) during the whole day :-D
We did a last minute booking to this trip yesterday evening. Everything went smooth starting from the pickup from departure point. Mr. Potato was really friendly, open and knowledgeable about localities. The whole whole trip exceeded our expectations. It was a great possibility to get to know the culture and local people's life better. Potato was telling interesting stories and answering all our questions. He was taking really good care of the whole group focusing on our speed, energy level and any possible needs. Our driver Mr. Mohamed Elderflower was also really nice and good driver. I would definitely recommend taking this trip if you want to see something outside of Marrakech. Kind regards, Sándor
