Cruise back to Sydney Harbour on the Parramatta River
I had a nice trip to the Blue Moutains. Our guide "Les" (?) was really funny with his dad jokes (+ played laser with kids!) and knew a lot of interesting thing. :D
About the price, you have to add $49 if you want to enter into the Scenic World. But it worth it! I really enjoyed the view on the skyway and railway. The walkway in the rainforest was magical. :)
About drawbacks, the guide was a bit late at the meeting point in the morning ; at noon we had nearly the time to eat ; I think the Parramatta River Cruise is a bit useless (in my opinion).
But thank you anyways! :)
I love how the driver was very knowledgeable and had very good sense of humor and I'm pretty sure everyone on this trip agreed with me on this.
The trip was fun. The driver stopped the car and allowed us to spot kangaroos by roadside. Thank you very much! :)
Fantastic tour. Dimitri the guide was superb , kept us all informed about the blue mountain and was very friendly and approachable, we had a stop for lunch at a small town and it was very nice. All in all a fantastic day and well worth the money.
The morning pick-up route and admin was a little involved, but amply compensated for a jolly and knowledgeable guide (Hayden) and the spectacular sights along the trails. Also good is how guests are given the option for pay the entry fee for Scenic World -- where we were very lucky to spot a lyre bird in action thanks to Hayden's keen eye and persistence! The rides there are also fun but that wouldn't be the primary reason I pay for entry. :)
The transportation to blue Mountain was fine and the introduction given by the tour guide was fine. Just that we weren't given explanation on why there the parramatta River cruise wasn't avialble even though it was stated. Instead we were just given opal cards to go back to circular quay at the end of the day. I think the trip was not worth the price we paid for.
We booked this tour because of the rave reviews of experienced local English-speaking tour guides who were knowledgeable of the Blue Mountains and could give interesting history and accounts of the place. So we were sorely sorely disappointed and extremely upset when we were thrown a guide from China who had a limited command of English and spoke with a heavy accent that we could hardly comprehend. He did not give us any information we didn't already know. To give credit where it's due, Jo is a hard worker and got us to where we needed to go. But we paid for and were looking forward to having an experienced English speaking guide, not just a driver. We might as well have gone on our own. So please Oz Trail, don't assume that because we have Chinese names, you can bunch us together and throw us under the bus. I'm sure Jo will be a great asset to tourists from China speaking in his native language. My advice if you are Asian and wants a good English speaking guide, go somewhere else.
