Make your own way to Tempe Center for the Arts to meet your guide at the designated meeting point.
Receive a safety briefing and a lesson on how to operate the Segway. Practice on the Segway to get comfortable with the controls; after a few minutes you’ll be ready to follow your guide along the waterfront for a fun and scenic tour.
When your small group is ready, your guide leads you around Tempe Town Lake, which provides public space for water sports, concerts, picnics and shopping, and also functions as a reservoir that helps protect the city from floods. Glide through Tempe Beach Park, which has five miles (8 km) of paths that circle the lake. You may see bikers, joggers or roller skaters on the many trails, and boats sailing on the water. You'll also enjoy great views of the Papago Buttes rock formations and the Sonoran Desert that surrounds the city.
