Visit filming locations from the television series 'Game of Thrones' on this full-day guided tour from Reykjavik. Travel in a comfortable, climate-controlled coach to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location of the White Walker scenes. Visit Lake Thingvallavatn's stunning panoramic vistas. At Thjorsárdalur valley, relive one of the show's most exciting battle scenes. Round-trip transportation from selected Reykjavik hotels is included.
  • Visit famous Iceland locations that have featured in the HBO TV series Game of Thrones
  • Explore the White Walkers’ stomping ground at Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site
  • Soak up the incredible Lake Thingvallavatn scenery that acts as a backdrop to Nesjavellir Geothermal Power Station
  • See Thjorsárdalur valley and head to the site where a village was massacred by the Wildlings
  • Hear stories about the popular show, based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels
Enjoy pickup at selected Reykjavik hotels. With your local guide, climb aboard your comfortable, climate-controlled coach and set off through southern Iceland's screen-worthy scenery. As you travel, your guide will give an introduction to Iceland's role in the filming of Game of Thrones.
Your first stop will be Thingvellir National Park, a 40-minute drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was the set for many of the scenes in the show featuring the White Walkers. Disembark from the bus to check out the gorge of Thingvellir, where the European and American tectonic plates are slowly drifting apart, causing a massive crack in the earth's surface.
Stop for a drink and a snack (own expense), then continue on to one of Iceland's largest geothermal power stations. Set on the shores of Lake Thingvallavatn, this landmark is not a filming location, but its natural beauty makes it a worthwhile stop.
See the waterfall Þórufoss where a local goat was attacked by one of Daenerys‘ dragons. Meet some of the four-legged stars of the series, Icelandic horses who played parts as Westeros garrons, and are now enjoying their fame at a horse farm near Reykjavik. Almannagjá gorge in Thingvellir was used to film scenes depicting the Bloody gate of the Eyrie. Please check the availability, this tour is operated daily, all year round
At the Thjorsárdalur valley, re-imagine the scene where a quiet farming village was attacked by Wildlings and the Thenns. Walk around the village on foot before climbing back aboard the bus and returning to Reykjavik.

Must do!!!

This was the best time ever!! Theo was an absolutely wonderful guide - funny & very informative. We really enjoyed seeing the filming locations & hearing all of his stories as an extra in the series. The tour was definitely a high-light during our trip to Iceland. A must for any fellow Game of Throney!!! Thanks Theo!!!
Great Tour

Our guide was an extra on GoT for 4 seasons. As such, he was very knowledgeable about the filming locations and general hidden gems of the area. He also supplemented his talking with still shots taken from the show itself so guests could follow along. Most guides give breaks for people to rest or sleep on the coach between distant locations, but this guide spoke the entire time. This is not necessarily a negative, however. If you want to sleep, you can. If you want to be spoken to the entire time, that's also an option. This tour if good for fans and non-fans alike. There are no spoilers for the non-fans, but enough information for the fans to be completely entertained.

What a awesome tour and a fantastic tour guide. Theo, our guide, was not only informative, but so funny. It a dark sarcastic humor, but what do you expect from a Wildling, lol. Gave a lot of inside to the filming of the show. We had such great weather and that just made the day even more special. Would definitely recommend. For a fan of the show, or not. We had a few people on the tour who had never seen the show, and they still had a great time.

Our tour group had 15 people and we had a brilliant day. The tour guide was so knowledgable about the show and it was entertaining to hear about his experiences as an extra. He had an epic sense of humor and was happy to chat about Iceland in general too. It is a must do!
Iceland adventure with GOT thrown in

Great tour to majestic locations and GOT trivia. Tour guide was both knowledgeable and fun. Bus was comfortable.
Not just for GOT fans
, Mar 2019
I have never watched an episode but my partner is an avid fan. Amazing scenary with the waterfall, walk of the dead etc and a couple of short easy walks broke up the journey. Bit too much talking and relying on pictures but no real atmosphere build up to the various location. Some very tenuous links to fill in the time (horse stable because there were horses in the show! and a museum of rocks and stones). Also very little memorabilia surrounding the show available to buy.
A great way to start off my trip!

First things first, Theo is incredible! He's incredibly knowledgable about the show, a true Game of Thrones enthusiast, and just an all around nice guy. Going on this tour was like traveling around Iceland with your eccentric uncle. You'll get lots of great life advice, and some great tips for traveling around Iceland. It was the best way to start off my trip, and with such a small group size it was very easy as a solo traveler to feel connected and safe with my fellow Game of Thrones enthusiasts. You won't visit any super touristy places, which is very nice, and if you're lucky enough to have Theo, he might show you some of his favorite places in Iceland. This tour definitely isn't for anyone under the age of 18, but it's an all around good time. Highly recommend!
A Hvarm Welcome
, Mar 2019
Our guide - Hvarm - was excellent, full of background information from the Icelandic sagas and local knowledge, as well as Game of Thrones 'behind the scenes'. Clearly, in an 8 hour trip, one cannot cover all of the locations used to film GoT there (some would require helicopter or snowmobile access), so it was good to do as many as we did - Drogon's goatsnack, Ollie's village, the 4 locations in one at the old site of the parliament, all added up to 8 or so shots from the series - and many other microstops of interest throughout the day, made this feel a very packed programme. Definitely recommended!
You've got to experience a day with Theo!
