Our guide Bjorn was the best. Very informative, funny and engaging. He exudes pride for his country and the culture and shares the Icelandic food experience with you. I highly recommend.

We did this walk with our grown up children and their spouses. It was a perfect start of our visit! We had exiting local food/specialities and a chance to learn more about the city and the country. Our guide Solweig was excellent in every way - she had a great knowledge about her home country and its customs but also a good humour so we had food, facts and laughs - a perfect day! 👍
Had a wonderful time

We were a party of three and were joined by one other person. Our guide was Solvang and she was very personable, informative and open to answer our many questions. I really enjoyed our time with her! The food was plentiful! Definitely come hungry! It was a mix of traditional and more modern foods found in Iceland, which was exactly what we were looking for. I highly recommend this tour.
The good the bad and the ugly

We booked the 11:30 am tour and received written confirmation with time and location of start of tour. We arrived early as we wanted to ensure we did miss the tour. We waited until 12:15 and NO ONE else arrived and no guide. We tried the phone number on the voucher and no answer, no messaging capability. 1/2 hour later my phone rang and the called asked if I had just called his number. It was an Iceland number calling me so I thought Maybe it was the tour operator. After much back and forth he said we were booked on the 5:00 PM tour, there was no 11:30 tour. The 5:00 tour was with 4 other people. We decided to do the 5:00 tour but Viator document definitely had wrong timing, the caller even confirmed that when he checked into the system. A big waste of our morning. We were at the designated spot at 5:00 pm and the tour guide showed at exactly that time. Solvay was her name, a lovely Icelandic gal, there were no others on the tour and so we had an exclusive private tour. Tasted a variety of Icelandic foods in 6 different restaurants. Lots of food, arrive with an appetite. Learned lots about the Island and the people, food and customs. Great tour but a very rocky, disorganized waste of a day start. We could have been on another tour earlier in the day but the mixup wasted hours of precious time in a beautiful once in a lifetime visit to Iceland. Our time was limited to three days here so we were trying to do as much as possible.
Great way to explore local cuisine

This was a great tour to get a walk around Reykjavik and sample an assortment of all kinds of food within a small group! I liked that I was able to sample everything at various different restaurants without the worry of having to pay for a full meal of something that I might not even like. We went to about six different places and tried everything from whale, shark, puffin, skyr, meat stew, dried fish, fresh fish, lobster soup, and famous hot dogs. Our tour-guide Fanny was great and not only gave us history and information on the food, but also about Iceland itself then and now. I highly recommend doing this tour early in your trip to get a sample and overview of Reykjavik for the rest of your vacation!
Culinary Tour in Reykjavík

Four of us took a casual stroll with a manageable group led by their excellent guide Hlin. We were educated and entertained as we tasted native foods to Iceland. We stepped outside our comfort zone to taste one to several delicious offerings at each stop! No pressure to try just amazing flavors received! Well worth it and highly recommended!

This was a good tour. We had a ton of food and learned a lot. The reason for only 3 stars was this did not feel like an official tour. The tour guide just showed up at the restaurant and places with no prior arrangements...so we had to wait in line for almost all the places and wait for our food. To this point it was a little stressful and LONG - it lasted almost 4 hours!! We also added it up and we could have gone on our own food tour and just did what our tour guide did for cheaper. But the guide was very insightful to Iceland and we got a lot of culture, insights and information we could not have gotten without the tour. All in all I would recommend this tour but just align your expectations to be crowded and wait in line and that it might take much longer than mentioned. The other thing to note is the meeting point was very confusing. We were told to meet in front of a certain Hotel however the others in our group were told to meet in front of the Pillars in town square.
