Technically there was nothing wrong with this tour; the guide and driver were very nice. There just wasn't much to see. In the past we have learned so much from city tours so we were disappointed. Wouldn't do this one again.
This was a wonderful way to spend our first day after a long plane trip. We were a group of 6 people in a mini bus with a terrific guide/driver. We give a strong recommendation for others to do the same.
We expected to drive by several places and stop at 2 or 3. We actually stopped at 5 or 6 and had just the right amount of time for each. Took the tour in the a.m. and then did the Hop On/Hop Off in the afternoon, knowing just where we wanted to spend more time.
The tour itself was interesting and informative, but it was the driver/guide who made it great. He was pleasant, accomodating and knowledgeable. Originally German but could speak English extremely well.
Very interesting tour of the city, especially for those whom had no idea how life is in those latitudes, just wish they had assigned more time to go through a museum.
The tour guide I had, spoke to softly, and had to be encouraged to speak louder.
This is a good tour to take at the beginning of your visit to Reykjavík. You see/ stop at several of the important places. Then you can go back and see what you may want to see in more depth.
The pickup process is great. Highly recommended.
Saw different areas of Reykjavik that we did not see on the Golden Circle tour. Halli was great in explaining areas we drove by. Provides great recommendations and we back to Perlan to see the movies and exhibits
This tour was a fabulous way to see the city. There were only six of us in the minibus, so it was almost like a private tour without the expense!. Our guide, Erlingur, was extremely knowledgeable, filling our heads with fun facts about all the sites. And while it's builded as a city tour, you actually venture out of town for an up-close visit to the president's house and I do mean up close there were no guards there and we walked right up to the flag in front of the house. You can certainly see most of the sites on this tour by walking around on your own. But it's so much more efficient, educational and fun when you're with Viator and a guide such as Erlingur.
