Sitka's Best: All Inclusive Boat and Land Combo Tour

This was an expensive tour as far as excursions go, but as it’s “Sitka’s Best” it needed to be done. We got the free shuttle to town that the cruise companies arrange for passengers. We met our tour guide/boat owner he was really nice and gave us our passes. We then did the land part of the tour which was meant to include a brewery tour with “all inclusive drinks” The land tour consisted of a drive to a lay-by for photos of eagles which was great. Then onto the Bear Fortress which is a small black and brown bear zoo (it was ok, but hardly exiting - on the plus side the zoo was not-for-profit to care for the bears. Then we stopped at a pretty woodland for 15 minutes to see some totem poles that were bought it from all around the USA (none were local) We then drove the coach through the town to a hotel/bar. We were offered 1 pint of beer or 3x1/3 pint testers We were then taken back to town to go on the small boat 2 hour whale watching tour The small boat (5 guests) was great as it was very personal and it was just like sitting in a car with our knowledgeable captain We saw humpback whales. Sea otters and seals That part of the tour was good but the land part let the tour down and made the tour seem overpriced.
