Hvar Gastro and Wine Private Day Trip from Split

We had a fantastic day around Hvar Island inlcuding a walking tour of Hvar, visiting wineries (Duboković and Tomić), and seeing a beautiful traditional meal prepared for us - and even pitching in to help cook. We were a little surprised by the fact that lunch is actually prepared by the tour guide, Mario, and hosted in his home by his fabulous wife. They were very nice and served us a fantastic meal - Mario is a retired chef - but we were anticipating being in a restaurant, so that was different than we expected. There was also a bit of a mix up on the timing of our visits to wineries, so we didn't get to spend as much time at Tomić. I also think that we would have preferred paying more to travel from Split on the hydrofoil (1 hour) rather than the ferry (2 hours), but we didn't realize there were different options before the tour. But all in all, a wonderful day on beautiful Hvar Island!
