Enjoy a tranquil ferry ride across Norway’s glittering fjords to the Lyngen Alps. Climb aboard your snowmobile and follow winding trails through dramatic valleys and over frozen peaks. Soar through the bright or darkened area, depending on the start time selected, and then revitalize with some hot soup and steaming beverages before sailing back to Tromso.
  • Snowmobile safari in the Lyngen Alps from Tromso
  • Enjoy a scenic round-trip ferry ride to the Lyngen Alps
  • Ride or drive a 2-person snowmobile
  • Zoom along trails through snow-clad hills, valleys, and tundra
  • Stop for photos, and take turns driving your snowmobile

Make your own way to Tromso safari center to get acquainted with your knowledgeable guide. Travel to the local ferry port by coach and then climb aboard an awaiting vessel, relaxing during the scenic journey across the water.

As you approach the Lyngen Alps, marvel at the frozen splendor of a landscape considered Norway’s winter sports mecca. Gaze at stunning tableaux of dramatic ravines, snow-capped mountains, and serpentine trails as you disembark the boat and head to the snowmobile station.

After listening to a short safety briefing and donning a thermal suit and protective helmet, climb aboard your state-of-the-art snowmobile and follow an intermediate trail in order to build your confidence.

Once you feel secure, increase the pressure on the accelerator and summon your courage on serpentine tracks that afford incredible mountain vistas. If you’ve chosen an evening departure time, enjoy the added exhilaration of traveling by moonlight. Traverse icy ravines and navigate frozen mounds during your adventurous snowmobile safari.

Conclude your adventure at an inviting bar, warming up with delicious fish soup, crusty bread, and steaming beverages. Sated, return to Tromso by coach and ferry, and bid your guide farewell at the safari center, where the tour concludes.

Adventure in a beautiful landscape

We are so used to shore excursions that give you a small taste of an activity...for a large bite out of your pocketbook. This was totally different! We were on the snowmobiles for a long time and saw really gorgeous landscapes. The guides did a good job orienting is to the machines and were very watchful and attentive and also very pleasant. At the halfway point they served the best hot chocolate I’ve had in Norway and when we finished we were served delicious fish soup (I wasn’t expecting to like it and I scraped the bowl clean). The ferry ride to the location was an added bonus. I recommend this company and this adventure wholeheartedly!!!

We went to the lyngen alps for snowmobiling on Feb 22 2020. The trip was well organised including coach and ferry transfer and the cafe at the end serving lovely food with a warm hostess and amazing views. The snowmobile experience was safe but exciting ..supportive fun guides...stunning scenery...dont miss this opportunity..

Yaaaas adrenaline, come through! This was one of the best experiences ever! First of all, the landscape is gorgeous. The guides are friendly and amazing. The snowmobile was really easy to drive and I felt really safe (i was a bit concerned about it as I fell off quad bikes twice... but this is entirely different). I was behind Sana, the guide and she was always looking behind to make sure I’m alright and not falling behind. The fish soup was amazing!!! I can’t believe it - i dont eat fish soup at home when my mom cooks it haha. 10/10 recommend

This tour was amazing, the snowmobiles are great fun to drive and after the ferry ride you are pretty much on them constantly! The views are spectacular from the coach, ferry and during the snowmobiling and the tour guides are brilliant. Would highly recommend doing this whilst visiting Tromsø ❄️🤍

very good experience. using ferry and stopping at Husky farm was additional value. only thing we did not like is timing. In the confirmation it states 08:15 and when we arrived we found out it is 08:45

Fun day

Our tour was large, 20 people which meant we had to walk from the ferry. Only a 5 min walk- but normally there’s a mini van waiting.( it was snowing at a pretty good clip) Then the group needed to split in half- 10 got their gear on, 10 received instructions about the snowmobiles out in the snow in just what they came wearing. We where QUICK to get inside as fast as possible to get in the snow suit ASAP!!! This part was a little poor in design. I read in other reviews some people didn’t feel like they got to go fast enough or ride long enough... we went plenty fast and were out for just under 2 hours, 30 min were 3 separate picture breaks. Stunning landscape- can’t even imagine if it were a clear day!!! Fish soup, hot drinks and cake after. About an hr drive and 20 min ferry each way. Really enjoyed the day. They drove us back to the ferry in shifts, it was snowing again. literally takes 3 mins in the van..

A great day out could have been perfect with a bit more personality

Beautiful snowy day could have been perfect if the guides had been more enthusiastic (eye rolls were unnecessary) and perhaps told us a story or 2 about our surroundings to teach us about location. Lunch was delicious.
