Not as I envisioned
, Mar 2020
Coach left on time from tromso with a pick up of additional guests at a campsite. Coach ‘host’ gave a very interesting talk about the culture of Norwegians. Upon arrival we waited for our Sami guide to come and greet us. Very friendly. We was taken to the reindeer where we would go for a sleigh ride lasting approximately 30 minutes. Half way round the reindeer got a rest and had chance to interact with them. Potential to get cold as just sitting there so may wish to take an additional blanket to pop over you. Once back at the start we was taken to the ‘teepee’ for tea/coffee and was told about the Sami culture and how it has changed over the years to adapt to modern society. Lasoo throwing was a basic affair with some old antlers being placed on a length of wood to replicate a reindeer. Lunch was supplied along with tea/coffee which you ate with the two other activities that were also onsite. 4/5 as I expected to go to a Sami tribe and meet them. Instead you meet one person who had basically been made into a tourist attraction. This was all done on a out of season golf course rather than a area of wilderness Maybe a little over priced
