Meet your guide and small group of eight or fewer in central Tromso. Then, hop inside your air-conditioned minivan and head into the Swedish countryside. Bring a bathing suit to wear in the sauna, or opt to wear one of the towels provided at the hut.
As you travel, soak in the passing forests, fields, and farmsteads, and enjoy occasional photo stops to capture the picturesque scenery. Then, after 30 to 60 minutes, arrive at the sauna — a picture-perfect wooden hut on wheels in a location specially selected for its natural beauty and tranquillity. The hut will be situated near the sea or a lake, so you can cool off in the waters in between your steam sessions.
On arrival, enter the hut and change into your bathing suit or towel in the separate changing room. Then, head into the sauna to bask in the warming steam.
Soak up the relaxing effects of the steam at temperatures of anything between 140-176 degrees Fahrenheit (60-80 degrees Celsius), and hop in and out as you wish: leaving to cool off in the air or water before heading back inside and repeating.
Decide for yourself how long you want to stay in the sauna, and when you’re finished, use the hot water from the stove to rinse yourself, so you can don your clothes feeling clean and refreshed.
Then, gather round a campfire built by your guide. Drink in the soft twilight of the summer Arctic evening and savor a freshly prepared dinner, as well as hot and cold drinks, around the flickering flames.
After three to four hours at the site, return to Tromso, where your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel or the cruise port.
Please note: the sauna hut is unisex with a unisex changing room. You are free to decide how long you want to spend in the sauna or around the bonfire.
