The waltz was first popularized within the walls of the Kursalon Vienna in the 19th century, thanks to the talents of Johann Strauss, who celebrated his first great success at a concertmaster here. The venue quickly became a bustling spot for Viennese society to meet and enjoy music. Your evening will begin with dinner inside the historic concert hall, at the Restaurant Johann. Settle into your seat and savor four courses of seasonal Viennese dishes. (See Sample Menu below.) After dessert, you’ll be shown to your seat for a renowned performance of classical Viennese music in Lanner Hall. Accompanied by opera vocalists and ballet dancers, soak up the sounds of arias, duets, waltzes and polkas, as well as operetta and piano concerto melodies. Hear Strauss’ ‘A Little Night Music’ and ‘On the Beautiful Blue Danube,' and Mozart’s famous overture to Le Nozze di Figaro. You’ll also be treated to Johann Schrammel’s ‘Vienna remains Vienna' and many more pieces from local musicians throughout the centuries. If you choose to upgrade to a VIP ticket, enjoy front-row seating, a glass of sparkling wine during intermission and a Johann Strauss CD to take home with your Kursalon Orchestra program.

Only the overly warm salon where concert was held detracted from this experience. It was a warm evening. Restaurant dining experilence included very good food and service. Very pleased to have included this in our Vienna visit.
The concert was really good, the dinner could be better. Its a really nice place. It was an amazing night. The food was average, and also the service at the diner, but the concert was really good. Its a good mix of Strauss and Mozart works, very well balanced and the musicians were good. During the intermission you can go to a balcony and have some sparkling wine, or simply enjoy the view of the city. There was something special in the Danube, and I know, everybody does it, but I really enjoyed it. You dont need to worry very much about dressing up, because everybody was dressed differently. No need for fancy dresses there were a few but also there was people wearing snickers. I was in such a good mood that I ended the night with a walk back to the hotel even if I was wearing high heels. Id recommend that concert for anyone.
The concert was excellent ......... Unfortunately when you book and pay for VIP tickets 124 per person and the dress code states that it is SMART casual, we don't expect to be surrounded by people wearing jeans, trainers and hoodies. Spoilt the whole occasion and reason for booking VIP tickets. Also the glass of champagne during the interval turned out to be absolute free for all only to be given half a glass of cheap plonk!
Fantastic! Highly recommend this event if you are a music lover or just want to experience something different, the food was fantastic, the show was phenomenal! From the musicians to the dancing to the singing it had a little of everything. Two thumbs way up!
