Meet your host Carolina at the entrance to the Pinxto Bar inside La Boqueria, Barcelona’s main marketplace. This is a lively, covered market that both tourists and locals frequent. Walk through the market and explore local and regional produce sold by your host's favored vendors. You will learn about regional foods and purchase a few ingredients that you will use during your cooking class. Back home, you will join Carolina in her small kitchen and learn to cook a healthy and authentic Spanish meal. Your hands-on cooking class will last about 1.5 hours during which you will prepare a regional appetizer like pan con tomate with jamon Iberico, olives and goat cheese, a main course of seafood such as squid poached in olive oil and lemon served with asparagus and a side dish, all from scratch! Enjoy learning about Spanish cooking before you sit down to share the food you helped prepare with Carolina.
