Tyrolean State Museum Ferdinandeum (Tiroler Landesmuseum)
The Basics
Most visitors choose to explore the Ferdinandeum independently, purchasing single tickets at the door or combination tickets that grant entrance to all five Tyrolean State Museums. Exhibitions at the Ferdinandeum cover over 30,000 years of history and art, from the Stone Age to present day Tyrol. Highlights include a collection of Biedermeier furniture; artworks by Austrian artists Egon Schiele, Albin Egger-Lienz, and Gustav Klimt; a collection of traditional musical instruments; and a number of works by Dutch artists Brueghel and Rembrandt.
Things to Know Before You Go

How to Get There
The Tyrolean State Museum Ferdinandeum is located along Museumstrasse in Innsbruck Old Town. It’s a short stroll from attractions such as the Court Church (Hofkirche, another of the state museum properties) and the Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl), or about a 10-minute walk from Innsbruck train station.
When to Get There
The Tyrolean State Museum is open daily except Mondays from morning to late afternoon.
Innsbruck’s Other State Museums
A collection of five properties, the Tyrolean State Museum also includes the nearby Court Church (Hofkirche), home to the magnificent cenotaph of Maximilian I, and the adjoining Museum of Tyrolean Regional Heritage (Volkskunstmuseum), which focuses on folk art, costumes, and cultural events. The Armory (Zeughaus) has items relating to the Tyrolean wars, as well as the region’s salt- and silver-mining heritage, and the Tyrol Panorama is a magnificent circular painting depicting Tyrol’s military history.
