Rural Istria is rich with medieval hilltop villages, vineyards, olive groves, meadows and forests – the area is very pleasant for touring on a bike. Our route includes Oprtalj, Groznjan and Motovun charming hillside towns where we will have time for a short walk and exploring. We will also cycle the Parenzana, an old railroad bed now known as a mecca for cyclists. As we travel down to the Mirna River Valley, we will enjoy magnificent views of the countryside from the trail. This is a 42km round trip and ends at the starting point. Most of the route follows paved roads with little traffic, but part is on packed dirt and gravel. The trip is a moderate level of difficulty. There is and option to do E-bike version of the trip for those who are not avid cyclist and/or for those who want to make this cycling experience more relaxing.
