It is actually a road that connect La Paz city to Los Yungas, It is ideal for mountain bikes. In 1995 the Inter-American Development Bank named it as the "world's most dangerous road".  Mountain biking enthusiasts in particular have made it a favorite destination for downhill biking. Curious facts: *Paraguayan prisoners from the Chaco war between Bolivia and Paraguay at 1930s built part of the road. *The worst accident happened in 1983, almost 100 people died when a bus fell off the cliff. *People gossip of the local legend: that all these deaths are the revenge of the Paraguayan war prisoners who worked on the construction of the road.
