Private Tour: Ajanta Caves Day Tour in Aurangabad
Visit the Ajanta Caves and learn about ancient Indian civilization
Enjoy the personalized attention of a private guide
The Ajanta caves are worth a trip to India in themselves, and this tour was a great way to see them. My wife and I flew in from Mumbai to Aurangabad early in the morning, and were picked up at the airport in a private car. The drive to Ajanta is a little uncomfortable at times, the road being so poor, but this is certainly not the tour company's fault, and the car was a good one.
Our guide was extremely informative and helpful. His own passion for the subject was apparent, and he was a wealth of information. If we had been seeing the caves on our own, we could certainly have appreciated the natural beauty of the canyon, and the exquisite work of the carvings and paintings, but the significance of the paintings would have been lost on us. Our guide was able to tell the stories represented in the paintings, which brought it all to life for us.
We would wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone considering a visit to the Ajanta caves.
Ajanta is truly amazing and our guide gave us an excellent tour. The caves were about two hours from our hotel. Our guide gave us information about the area we were passing through. We stopped on our way back to Aurangabad for a tasty lunch that was included in the price of the tour. We stopped in Aurangabad at a textile factory on our way back to see the work that has made Aurangabad famous. Ajanta is not to be missed.
The Ajanta caves are amazing, however, remember to take plenty of water as temperatures can get quite hot. Guide very informative and knowledgeable about all the caves. Very last cave the most memorable and picturesque!
