Do full justice to three of Beijing’s must-see sights with a privately guided 8-hour city sightseeing trip. Check out Tiananmen Square, the immense square at the heart of the city, and explore the highlights of the Forbidden Palace and the Summer Palace on guided walking tours. A break for lunch (own expense), entrance fees, private transport with a guide and driver, and hotel pickup and drop-off all included.
  • Private 8-hour tour of Beijing Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, and Summer Palace
  • Stroll around vast Tianmenan Square, the world’s largest public space
  • Explore the Forbidden Palace, the seat of China’s emperors for 500 years
  • Stroll around the lakes, pavilions, and gardens of the Summer Palace
  • Transport by private vehicle including hotel pickup and drop-off
  • Entrance fees included
  • Personalized attention from a private guide, with a separate driver
Begin your private tour with hotel pickup in central Beijing. Then, set off by private vehicle with your guide and a driver.
Stop first at Tiananmen Square, considered the heart of Beijing. Marvel at the square, the world's largest public space, and take in the sights around it, including the National Museum of China, and Monument to the People’s Heroes. Capture photos of the sights, and then check out the Tiananmen Rostrum fronted by the famous portrait of Chairman Mao.
Next, head inside the magnificent Forbidden City, the world’s largest imperial palace, and the seat of 24 Chinese emperors from the 15th to the 20th centuries. Take a walking tour of the main halls and courtyards as you learn about the emperors who lived and ruled from this secret world.
Afterward, take your pick from the Chinese restaurants recommended by your guide, and relax over lunch (own expense), before paying a visit to the idyllic Summer Palace, the summer retreat of China’s imperial families.
Stroll around the exquisite lakes, pavilions, bridges, and gardens as you learn how the park was used as a playground and office by the emperors from 1750 on. Your tour then finishes with a hotel drop-off.

This is the best way to see the area and our guide was just fabulous. Tiananmen square was closed but as we had been here before we weren't concerned.

Myself and two children absolutely loved this tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and personable that we thoroughly enjoyed the day and we learnt more than we could have ever imagined. I don't think a visit to these historic sites would be the same without a tour guide explaining everything to you. I would highly recommend this tour.

Robert is my favorite! An incredible guide and genuine person. I had the opportunity to have Robert as my guide before, so I reserved this tour when my family came to visit me in Beijing. I was overjoyed to watch Robert teach my family. He is very knowledgeable and accommodating. Strongly recommend!

Our guide Cindy, whom we had for 2 separate tours, was amazing. Her knowledge, and ability to explain in excellent English what we were looking at made the tour more special.
If taking this tour, beware there is a lot of walking, we covered about 9.5 Km. however it is worth it.
It is mind blowing the history contained in this tour, and Cindy knew it all, especially fascinating was her story on the Dragon Empress.
Drivers and cars were excellent, as was Cindy's choice of restaurants for lunch we let her order, because everything on the menu was in Chinese and it was excellent.
If you want a top rate personal tour, with a friendly courteous and knowledgeable guide, Catherine Lu's tours are at the top of the list.

We had a great guide who was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English and took us to some of the sights off the beaten track - avoiding the crowds and seeing lots of interesting places along the way - a lot of walking but but we went at our pace and saw everything we wanted to see and lots more - thank you

I really enjoyed this tour! Robert was amazing, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I learned a lot about each place we passed, he explained everything very well. He was also very patient with us taking pictures, and he is also very good photographer!
The tour bus was clean, spacious and comfortable. The driver, William, picked us up and dropped us off right where we needed to be. Overall a very worthwhile tour! I strongly recommend.

We had a wonderful day in Beijing with Susan. She arrived right on time at our hotel with a car and excellent driver. Susan was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and responsive. We enjoyed everything that we did together and learned a great deal about this beautiful city. I highly recommend this tour and Susan as a guide.

The car/driver/guide were great. They met us at the hotel at the agreed time. They booked tickets in advance, and knew how to avoid some lines. They took us to an affordable and decent local restaurant for lunch. The only down sides could not be helped -- the end of January is cold and Lunar New Year is crowded. Joyce is a friendly and attentive guide who met our needs -- sped up/slowed down as we wanted and was knowledgable about the sites. Would recommend the private tour, especially for a family. It was a nice way to see the major sites without managing any local logistics yourself.

This was the only private your we did so it costs us 140 each. To have a guide and driver for us all day was worth it. We also went to a local restaurant where the food was great. Excellent guide, driver, and experience.

We went to the Great Wall on the first day and saw the sights of downtown Beijing the 2nd day. What an awesome way to experience Beijing! Our guide was fantastic and the personalized sight seeing tours were phenomenal!
