Why Travelers Choose This Tour
This bike tour earns rave reviews and ends with a hunger-busting bowl of Hungarian goulash.
Begin your tour in central Budapest. Once you’ve received a brief safety overview, head out with your guide through the city. The selected route for the tour travels through bike lanes and mainly flat terrain for a leisurely sightseeing experience. Pass the neo-Renaissance Opera House as you cruise down Andrassy Avenue, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After some explanation from your guide, steer your wheels toward Heroes’ Square, well known for its iconic statues of the seven Magyar chieftains. Nearby lies the foliage of Budapest’s City Park, where you can find Vajdahunyad Castle. From there, bike toward the cupola of the Széchenyi Baths, built in 1908. Take a peek at the thermal pools before heading back toward central Budapest. Gaze up at the towering structure of St. Stephen’s Basilica and take a brief stop in front of the House of Terror, a museum documenting Hungarian history during World War II and Communist rule. Then, as you make your way across the Chain Bridge, pass the stunning architecture of the Parliament Building, home to the Holy Crown of Hungary. Head up the Buda Castle District, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, while your guide discusses the historical and political importance of the area. Then pedal to an open-air restaurant to rest your legs and reward your belly with a hot bowl of Hungarian goulash, before returning to your original departure point.
Great bike tour with Anna who is very knowledgeable about Budapest and its history, we were in a good little of group of 9 who all enjoyed learning about Budapest history and culture. Anna made sure we were all happy and safe with our bikes and helmets which were all good and sturdy. She led us very well through the city centre in bike lanes (much wider than UK ones) and the traffic seemed very bike friendly towards us. We stopped for lunch in a very nice restaurant in a park and the bowl of goulash was delicious, pity the waitress didn’t have time to get us a drink, luckily Anna gave us all water. All in all a great day, enjoyed by a couple in their sixties who haven’t been on a bike for about a year and we didn’t even ache the next day which shows the seats were comfie!
Had a great day on this bike tour the bikes are a very high standard & easy to ride. Great to do this trip on your first day as they take you around the city. The lunch was lovely at a lovely restaurant. would highly recommend this trip.
The guide was was entertaining and friendly. He provided some insightful information. During the 4 hour tour we went to 6 stops. I was surprised there weren't more sights covered, but perhaps there aren't that many sights to visit via bike in Munich.
It was a perfect way to see Budapest 💕🍀 active but not too much. Guide was wonderful through the busy streets n passing the bridge biking up to the castle were all surprisingly manageable and fun!! Great start to touring this city! Big thumbs up!!👍
This was such a great experience, can't recommend doing this enough. We had a great, knowledgeable tour guide, Anna! She was super informative, made sure everyone was keeping up and was so sweet and interesting. She gave us a lot of recommendation for restaurants and things to explore in the city as well. It was such a great way to get to see Budapest.
This was a GREAT way to see the city. Our guide, Anna, was friendly, knowledgeable and was able to keep us moving without us feeling rushed. Our lunch together was relaxed and of good quality. We covered--and rode through--so many of the city's highlights on both the Buda and Pest sides, in a relatively short amount of time. Yes, we had to pedal up the hills of Buda, but it was without any car traffic and we felt completely safe and comfortable the whole time.
A brilliant bike tour with Anna, she was very friendly and had lots of knowledge to share about Budapest and the buildings we visited, lunch was traditional goulash in lovely settings in a park by the side of a pond. I highly recommend this trip as a brilliant enjoyable way to get around Budapest.. BRILLIANT!!!!
