See the best of Budapest on a 3.5-hour bike tour led by a private guide. Wheel around the bike paths and cobblestone streets to pass UNESCO-listed Buda Castle District, the iconic statues in Heroes’ Square, the impressive Parliament Building and more. Your guide will provide anecdotes and historical background as you go, giving context to all the major landmarks surrounding you. You’ll also enjoy a stop to rest your legs with a hot beverage and Hungarian treat during the tour.
  • Your group only with a private certified guide
  • Innovative stories, interactive participation encouraged
  • Overview of Hungarian History and Culture
  • Flexibility within 3,5 hours, you can decide the main focus of the tour
  • Coffee and cake stop is included
Your private guide will meet you in central Budapest to begin your tour with some safety tips. Be sure to mention sights that you definitely don’t want to miss, as the tour can be structured around your interests. Then, you’re off! Your guide will narrate as you go, filling in the rich history and culture of the streets around you.
Wheel past the bustling shops of Andrassy Avenue and the stately Opera House. You’ll see the iconic statues of Heroes’ Square and the bordering green landscape of City Park. While in the park, spot top attractions such as the Széchenyi Baths, one of Europe’s largest spas and a key part of Budapest’s thriving bath culture. Nearby is also the Vajdahunyad Castle, designed in the varied architectural styles common to historic Hungary, including Baroque, Romanesque, Gothic and Tudor.
Next, pedal to grand structure of St. Stephen’s Basilica, now a popular spot for classical concerts thanks to its acoustics. Then travel along the Danube Promenade to admire Margaret Island and the Chain Bridge.
After heading across the river, you’ll come to the Buda side of the city, home to the Royal Palace. Bike up to the Castle District to hear the history behind this cobblestoned quarter. You’ll also admire the colorful tiled roof of Matthias Church and, of course, the Royal Palace itself. The last stop in Buda will be at Fisherman’s Bastion, a prime spot for taking photos of Pest stretched out down below.
Then rest your legs briefly with a hot beverage and Hungarian treat before crossing back over to Pest to see the Great Market Hall and the Hungarian National Museum. You’ll also see the Great Synagogue before returning to your original departure point to conclude your tour.

Laszlo was our guide and he was awesome. Learned so much about the city and even ate strudel at a cafe. Laszlo knew so much about all the historical sites. He spoke english very well and took us off the beaten path. It was beyond my expectations!

Our experience was outstanding, Anna was an amazing tour guide she knew all the information about the sites and even made more interesting spilling her own experience of Hungary which aloud us to get a better perspective about Budapest. The stop for the strudel is a very good idea because it allowed us to sit down with Anna and ask her about life in Hungary, which with her outstanding personality complemented the sit down and chat.

We had a great private ride. George was an excellent guide. His English and knowledge of history was excellent. He also had a cute sense of humor. The strudel at the end was a plus.

We had a private tour with A'Rpa'd as our guide. He is very knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful tour. Budapest is perfect for cycling and we were able to get an overview of the city in one day.
