Returns to original departure point
At your Ho Chi Minh City hotel, climb aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and travel to the rural town of Cai Be, situated approximately 100 miles (160 km) southwest of the capital. Capture photographs of the alluring agricultural landscapes along the way then hop onto a motorboat on arrival in Cai Be.

Cruise around the Cai Be Floating Market, a commercial spectacle established in the 19th century. Marvel at boats replete with exotic produce and interact with locals in order to discover more about their stock. Next, disembark and stroll to the coconut candy factory to discover the manufacturing process of the sweet treats.

Purchase some candy to snack on, and then explore the small villages of the Mekong Delta with your guide. Feast your senses on the rich sights and smells of a fruit orchard and listen to melodious Vietnamese folk music known as don ca tai tu.

Return to the water on a small boat and sail to Tan Phong Island to commence a cooking class in which the secrets of Vietnamese cuisine are revealed. Prepare delectable dishes inspired by regional recipes; typical dishes include braised fish, grilled steak and fried elephant-ear fish.

Digest your culinary classics then hop onto a bicycle to explore the orchards, bonsai gardens and winding streets of a local village. Sail back to Cai Be and relax during the return journey to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mostly disappointing.

A long and bumpy two hour drive to get to the Mekong Delta and the Floating Market (and back again!) Was hoping to see more of the Delta and the floating market was pretty much non-existent! Only a few boats left doing nothing! At least our guide explained why but still very disappointing. Only saved by the cooking class and the food after! That was better!

Amazing and informative tour

Our tour guide Dana was amazing! With her extensive knowledge and sense of humor she made this tour even better than we imagined. While the floating markets are dwindling, the rest of the tour makes up for it. Drink the snake wine. It’s delicious.

This was one of the best tours I've been on. It was great to escape the busy city and see what life is like for people who live on the river. Our guide told us a lot of interesting things about day to day life in Vietnam. And the food and snacks are delicious, so be hungry!

Trip was very good and well organised. I firstly was disappointed with the late pickup. Secondly with the price I paided$76 through Viator whole others on the tour paid $50. This is a huge difference in cost when paying for two people. Buyer BEWARE. Viator and the tour company need to examine prices differences for the same trip as tourists talk. I am hoping this price difference will be refunded to me ASAP.

Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable guide made this tour an interesting one. the village life is brought to life via a short bicycle tour. The floating market was a bit of a letdown but still a nice cruise around the Mekong river and enjoyed the quietness and stillness.

The cooking class was simply making a savory pancake from a prepared batter. The tour guide we used was AWESOME though. Denny went above and beyond!

So much packed in. Really informative and knowledgable guide. We only had a day spare so had to book on line and were not disappointed. However if you have more time to play with would recommend you do this via accommodation. We could have saved 20 dollars per person!

Really enjoyed this tour, in part due to our tour guide Danny. He was very knowledgeable, humorous and accommodating. We packed a fair amount in a day, including the floating market which unfortunately by the time we got there was fairly quiet, cooking class, wonderful lunch and bike ride. It would recommend it to anyone in a heart beat.
