Meet your guide for day upon pickup at your Montego Bay hotel. Settle into your vehicle for the 20-minute drive to the hilly area of Montego River Gardens.
Hike into the Rastafari Indigenous Village with your guide, possibly crossing a river on foot. Note the healing plants and medicinal herbs that line the paths through the countryside on the way to the village.
As you approach the village, listen to the welcoming sound of drumming. Meet some of the community members and learn about the Rastafarian way of life, which includes healthy living and harmony with other species. This community's motto is 'one love, one heart,' and they believe in equal rights and justice for humanity.
Participate in typical daily village activities, including joining the drumming circle and making crafts with some of the local artisans. Watch culinary demonstrations that include traditional Rastafarian vegetarian dishes. Listen to your guide as they teach your group about the history of Jamaica's Rastafari movement.
Take the opportunity to purchase a drink or snack at your own expense before hiking back down from the village to your vehicle and returning to Montego Bay.
