Viator stuffed up!
, Oct 2019
I bought 2 tickets for Skocjan caves and Lipica Stud farm product 3312P50 but they gave me the above tour, and stated it would include Cave tour and Prosciutto and Tehran wine tasting and tour of Stanjel. The pick up guide was good, and she was sorry, but she stated it was a Viator issue, and she couldn't include anything other than the caves and a drive to a crappy restaurant with staff who wouldn't serve us - near the entrance to the Lipica stud. The caves were amazing, but Viator should reimburse me!

Dear Margingram54, Thank you so much for your review, we want to become better and better with every response we get from our clients. We are sorry to hear what happened at the trip and we will definitely investigate why it came down to this. In the winter season this program will be available with tasting and visiting Štanjel, and it starts at the beginning of next month. At the moment still the Lipica stud farm is a part of the tour. We will also contact Viator for this not to happen again. In case you will be back to Slovenia let us know, we will be happy to assist you, this time for sure with the best experience ever. Best regards, Martin Popit

OMG! This was the best Literally, we were picked up at our hotel, the tour group provided us water, and even picked us up in a nice Mercedes CLA, since our group was the only group scheduled that day, we got a nice private tour. Keep in mind for this tour, the guide will give you history of the Lipica Stud farm and Skocjan caves. Our Guide Ava was very informative and spoke clear english! I had been to postjna caves as well, but this Skocjan caves felt way more authentic and natural, and not as commercialized. Ava is only the guide to get you to the locations, she will not be accompanying you on the tours, the tours itself have their own local english speaking guides, so during that time the guide who picked you up simply waits for you to finish the tours. Lipica stud farm, you see the horses very close as you drive in and see the linden trees on each side it is very scenic. I did not pay the extra 16 euros, as you can see the horses without going through the paid tour, and wasn't that interested in horses, as i was the caves. The caves is a hike! You will be walking up and down as many as 500 stairs, but the beauty and the natural simplicity is overwhelming, compared to other commercialized caves such as postojna. You will get a chance to see how old tourists viewed the caves, and the new path which is much more accessible. The feeling of the rushing river in the caves is way more audible here and visible then other caves. The water color was amazing, just was the best, as weather won't affect you too much inside a cave! I really hope if you have the extra time you can go and do this tour, as it was very scenic and different.
