With this admission ticket to the C.M Russell Museum in Great Falls, the way you spend your time is up to you. The museum is open from 10am to 5pm (check for days the museum is closed), so you’ll have all day to explore at your own pace. It usually takes the average person about three hours to go through all the exhibits, so you’re sure to have more than enough time in one day.
The museum features more than 4,000 art pieces spanning roughly 50 years of American history. Russell himself created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Indians, and landscapes. See many of his most famous Western-inspired watercolors, including Breaking Camp and Meat for the Wagons.
Although most of the artwork you admire throughout the day is Russell’s, you can also spot works by other western artists. The temporary exhibit Going to the Sun: Artists in Glacier National Park is full of paintings that capture life inside the national park. Make sure to visit the Browning Firearms Collection before you call it a day.
