There were so many people on this tour, it was difficult to hear the guide. And he had a strong British accept that was hard to understand. After 5 minutes, we aborted the tour and went for beers at the Hofbrau Haus.
If you have any interest in European History at all do not miss this tour. We had an excellent guide called Jake who was very very knowledgeable but still managed somehow to make the whole thing fun if such a thing is possible. He has his own personal story about the Holocaust and is clearly very passionate about his job. He even overran on time because he wanted to show us more things than he needed to. It clearly is not a matter of putting in the hours for him, he really went out of his way to make this tour brilliant. I learned loads on this tour and would really recommend it.
The guide, Brett, really made this tour come alive. He's an especially competent orator with an ability to do an outstanding job seemingly effortlessly. His ability to communicate clearly and passionately is especially relevant given the nature of this particular tour. It's one thing to describe a historical figure as an effective orator it's something else altogether when that description is itself demonstrative of the form attempting to be conveyed.
Our tour guide Jake was very knowledgeable and an interesting history buff. We learned about the rise of the Nazi party in Munich and was led around the city to significant Nazi sites. The guide was entertaining and communicated the material well.
We did our tour on a cold December afternoon with Aileen. She was absolutely brilliant!
Full description of the events and History of the rise of the third Reich, and visits to the main places when historical events took place.
Definitely highly recommended and a great introduction to the later tour we did to Dachau.
Absolutely a must especially if you have Aileen as your guide. Fantastic and full of information. Aileen also had visual aids to let you see where youre standing and how it would have looked or to see Hitler in particular places.. really really great.
We were 7 minutes late due to traffic and construction. After calling the tour company they wouldn't try to connect us up with the rest of the group. We were read a scripted liability policy and told to book another tour.
