Explore the Red Fort, home to India’s Mughal emperors until 1857. Enter the massive, red-sandstone ramparts, and explore the grounds and pavilions.

Next, see inside the Digambar Lal Mandir, Delhi’s oldest Jain temple. Admire the red-sandstone turrets and shrines as your guide explains the temple’s significance and adjoining bird hospital.

After visiting the 18th-century Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib Sikh temple, continue to Jama Masjid, one of India’s biggest mosques. Tour this impressive 17th-century edifice, learning how it was commissioned by emperor Shah Jahan and took 6,000 workers six years to build.

Then, explore Chandni Chowk — whose name means ‘moonlit square’ after its long-gone moonlit canals — one of Delhi’s busiest markets. Ride a cycle rickshaw past the cubbyhole shops, absorbing the commotion and color.

Lastly, visit the 19th-century Dharampura haveli for lunch or dinner (depending on option selected). Admire the building before a welcome drink and traditional Indian meal including appetizers, starters, and at least three main course dishes with Indian breads, rice, and curd. After dessert, and tea or coffee, finish your tour with a hotel drop-off.
