Overview

Take command of your own 3-person mini-speedboat for a 3.5-hour adventure snorkeling and navigating among the beautiful tropical islands just off Puerto Rico’s east coast. Follow the lead of your certified guide as you pilot your own vessel with a convoy of other speedboats through the turquoise-blue waters of the Caribbean, stopping at the deserted island Icacos Cay and (if water conditions allow) the gorgeous Isla de Palominitos. During the day you’ll enjoy snorkeling amidst schools of colorful fish and relax on stunning white-sand beaches. Your speedboat adventure also includes a guide, personal cooler with ice, snacks and refreshments, plus snorkel and safety gear.
  • Enjoy a mini-speedboat adventure and snorkeling along Puerto Rico's east coast
  • Visit the underwater reefs on Icacos Cay and (weather permitting) Isla de Palominitos
  • Snorkel gear, cooler, snacks, and refreshments included
  • Enjoy time for sunbathing on the islands' white-sand beaches
  • Choice of morning or afternoon departure
  • Experience the thrill of piloting your very own mini-speedboat
Head to Fajardo’s Marina Puerto Chico to begin your mini-speedboat adventure. Two different departure options, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, are available so pre-arrange your preferred option before setting out. Before climbing aboard your mini-speedboat you’ll also participate in a full safety orientation with the staff.
When the group is ready, motor out of the marina and proceed along the bluffs of Puerto Rico’s “Las Cabezas de San Juan” nature reserve. Make sure to enjoy the beautiful views of nearby mountains, the lush “El Yunque” rainforest, local mangrove forests, and the scenic 130-year-old Fajardo lighthouse.
Your first destination stop of the day is the scenic Icacos Cay, forming one link in an extended island chain that forms the Cordillera Cays Nature Reserve. Upon arrival at the Cay, grab some snorkeling gear and dive below the surface to explore the wondrous collection of colorful reef fish that call this underwater sanctuary home.
After about an hour of time for snorkeling in Icacos, you’ll proceed on to “Isla de Palominitos” depending on the current wind and water conditions. This gem of a tropical island offers turquoise-colored waters and more coral reefs teeming with marine life. You might even recognize the setting from its starring role in the film “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.” Feel free to nap and sunbathe on the island’s sugar-sand beaches, learn about the area from your guide, or join in more snorkeling time.
Leaving Isla de Palominitos behind, climb back aboard your mini-speedboat as you motor back toward the mainland, arriving back in Fajardo’s Marina Puerto Chico.

Loved this tour, it was amazing, the guides Jamal and Juan were amazing. The tour wasn't rushed and was super fun. Lots of time to enjoy the trip, the snorkeling and beach time. Great day and would do this again! My kids loved it too! Juan is a marine biologist, and his knowledge of the reef was awesome.

Kayaking Puerto Rico is the best company to tour with on the east side of the island! They have amazing guides that are so educated and eager to entertain and educate you. Of the 3 trips we took, the groups were never too large, very well organized and highly scenic.Puerto Rico is beautiful and taking this island hopping tour in the mini boat was awesome. Go-carts of the sea, these little boats were so much fun and easy to drive. The snorkel adventure was incredible. We saw more fish and coral than I ever expected and am so glad we purchased the photo package.

This tour was exactly as described! My husband, my 8 year old son, and I enjoyed it very much. I have been on other snorkeling excursions and we have always just been thrown out there with fins and a mask that easily fogs up to figure it out for ourselves, but in this trip we were given a mask with fog protect-ant and tips on how to wear it so it doesn't leak. The guides showed us different types of fish and coral and explained the names. They also gave us some time for us to explore on our own. There were more than enough snacks and water for the entire trip and plenty of time as each stop. They also supplied a 15 picture package which was worth the buy! The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. It was apparent that they had a real passion for the sea-life.
