Why Travelers Choose This Tour

This is one of the most affordable options for a full-day adventure along Iceland’s South Coast, including Jökulsárlón.
Depart your central Reykjavik hotel by air-conditioned coach and gaze out over Iceland’s rugged landscapes as you journey toward the south coast.
As you travel, listen as your guide shares tales of south Iceland, an area rich in picturesque villages and natural spectacles such as glacial rivers, waterfalls and volcanic peaks.
Drive through villages such as Selfoss, Vik and Kirkjubaejarklaustur, and marvel at the snow-capped mountains and epic landscapes of Skaftafell, part of the Vatnajökull National Park.
Visit the spectacular Skogarfoss waterfall, and drive through the volcanic desert of Skeidarasandur — a vast sand plain where sandstorms can be so intense that they strip paint from cars!
Pass Iceland's largest active volcano, the ice-covered, sub-glacial Oraefajokull, and gaze up at 6950-foot (2,119-meter) Hvannadalshnjukur on its summit crater, the country’s highest peak.
Shortly afterward, arrive at Jokulsarlon Lagoon: a breathtaking expanse of water strewn with ice chunks that has provided the backdrop for several action films, including the James Bond hit Die Another Day and the 2001 Lara Croft: Tomb Raider movie.
Stop a Seljalandfoss on your way back to Reykjavik, where you have the opportunity to follow the path behind the falls. Your day trip concludes with drop-off at your hotel.

Just an amazing tour. For a 14 hour tour, it did not feel long at all. Beautiful weather with sunshine and nice view of the glaciers. Amazing water falls , and the glacier lagoon was the highlight. Nice tour guide and bus driver.
Ehhh... I probably wouldn't advise this trip

Okay, so this trip wasn't the greatest. Here's why: -90% of the 14hours was spent on the bus -you only have 20mins per destination stop (I personally would've liked more time at the waterfalls... Like at least 30mins but we only got 20mins) -the tour guide wasn't so good either...he didn't speak English that well so it was difficult to understand him (which I understand considering it's not his first language) and he was very very repetitive with information... But the trip wasn't a complete waste of time! I liked the ample time at the glaciers, the beaches, the sites we did stop at we're nice, and bus was quite comfortable. This trip is perfect for people who want to stop at the touristy places and take a few pics and move on. However, if you're looking to hike, stop frequently, and not be rushed; this is not the best option. For long trips like this, I would rent a car so you can stop for as long as you'd like!
Excellent tour! nice tour guide. very time sufficient

It's a long 14-hour tour but managed very well! adequate amount of time for everything - rest stops and site seeing. A lot of useful and interesting information. Pick upend drop off was very organized as well. Make sure to wait for your pick up at the bus stop exactly how it says on your booking email. Some hotels are not the pick up point but the bus stops are 1-2 minutes away. Ask your hotel staff where is the bus stop you need. Overall we had very good experience. It was just me and my 11-year old. We both enjoyed the tour. Takk!
Jokulsarlon glacier- A must do attraction!

Timely pickup and set off the journey right on time, sufficient stops throughout the journey. It’s a nice tour but be prepared to be sat in the bus for about 10 hours out of the 14 hours tour. Lots to see on the way from the bus. The tour guide was knowledgeable and fluent in her English, however lacked enthusiasm. I think the tour guide should ideally be enthusiastic/funny to help everyone to get through the last few hours on the return journey which starts to get a bit uncomfortable. Tip- once you get in the big coach, try to sit on the left hand side (when facing the driver/front of the bus) to get views of all glaciers/mountain peaks/ waterfalls & lava fields. On the right side you will get view of the ocean/lava fields - but you do see all of it on the way back. Overall a good experience, if you’re lucky you might get one of their better guides to make your experience nicer.
Spectacular natural wonders of Iceland

Trip was long but well worth the time spent . The glaciers , natural waterfalls and the black sand beaches are spectacular. The icebergs breaking and floating away and seeing otters frolicking amongst them was amazing. Along the way we also saw the different volcanoes and their effects in the landscape. The older houses with thatch roofs just blend into the scenery. We were also entertained with the saga stories and old myths and beliefs .
Great experince!

Jokulsarlons glacier is amazing and just as impressive in person as in the pictures. So is the emerald beach a short walk away. However it’s not worth all that journey for. I mean i forgot my headphones so had to listen to various travellers sniffing (as there aren’t toilets on board) and kids making noise throughout the journey which at first is bareable although after being couped up on a bus for 10hrs you begin to think of ways to end it all. I went on the trip yesterday as I figured I wouldn’t want to drive that distance. Today I rented a car and did the golden circle with my was long however you can’t beat the comforts of your own music, heating and own timing. The day was soo much easier on both of us and I hope to never step foot on a coach again! Not to mention it didn’t rain either so it could have been so much worse if I was wet and on that coach. Seriously...the glaciers are amazing just rent a car and drive yourself!!
An excellent day out.

A very good tour. Although journey was a long one, the frequent stops to see the wonderful landscape made it very interesting. Excellent guide.
Even though it's a LONG day 14 hours...

Even though it's a LONG day 14 hours driving, you get to see a lot of the area. I highly recommend this trip despite any complaints about 500 miles driving.
