Make your way to the Colosseo Metro Station for a 2pm departure, then join a guide and group for the walk to the Colosseum, the largest amphitheater in the world. You’ll skip the line with the guide, then learn about the Colosseum’s dramatic history, complete with gladiators, lions, and Imperial games.

Continue to the Roman Forum and Capitoline Hill, neighborhoods that were the heart of Rome’s ancient life, and visit Campidoglio Square, which Michelangelo designed in the 16th century. The first half of the tour concludes at 5pm at a terrace with sweeping views over the city—you’ll have an hour to explore on your own before meeting back up at Largo Argentina, a short walk away from Capitoline Hill.

On the second half of the tour, enter the historic Jewish Ghetto to see Piazza Mattei and the superb Fontana delle Tartarughe, learning about Rome’s Jewish heritage along the way. Continue past the neighborhood’s synagogue, one of the biggest in Europe, then cross Tiber Island to the Trastevere Quarter.

Explore Trastervere’s historic streets, soaking up the creative atmosphere of the neighborhood, which has long been popular with artists, writers, and students. This tour concludes at Campo de Fiori at roughly 9pm.
