Depart central Rotterdam by air-conditioned coach and travel to Lisse, an area known for its bulb fields. Listen to the live onboard commentary about this tulip-growing region and enjoy a panoramic tour.

Feast your eyes on the carpets of reds, yellow, and pinks, and stop for photos at different vantage points. Then, continue to the Keukenhof, one of the world’s largest flower gardens.

On arrival, enjoy a guided orientation tour to discover the garden’s history. Once a kitchen garden, the Keukenhof became an exhibition space for bulb exporters in 1949. Today, it boasts seven million bulbs of tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths that fill it with color and perfume every spring.

After your orientation, enjoy free time to explore independently. Stroll the footpaths and marvel at the expanses of flowers that frame the lawns, woodlands, ponds, and waterways. Discover the themed gardens such as the English landscape, Japanese country, and historical gardens, and visit the greenhouses, flower shows, and more.

Relax at the Keukenhof’s restaurants and shops, perhaps browsing for souvenirs and refueling with snacks and drinks (own expense). Later, return to Rotterdam, where your tour ends at the original start point.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Keukenhof
- We start your tour by making a scenic ride in the bulbflower area around Lisse. Depending upon the season you see a landscape with colourful bulbflower carpets in almost any colour you can imagine. We try to find a spot where we can stop to make some pictures. - Then we continue to the true highlight of this tour, the park Keukenhof. Once a mere kitchen garden filled with vegetables and herbs, the Keukenhof - smack dab in the middle of South Holland’s tulip region - now has the distinction of being the world’s largest flower garden, hosting some 800,000 visitors per year. This guided tour will take you through the 15 kilometers of footpaths and 32 hectares of gardens, where millions of bulbs are planted each year. Tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, and other spring bulbs of a variety of vibrant colors carpet the grounds. Stroll through the English landscape garden, the Japanese country garden, and the historical garden. Take in the flower sculpture, based on an annual theme.

When you think of visiting Holland you immediately think about New Amsterdam and while New Amsterdam is a great city do not rule out spending time in Rotterdam. We spent a few days in Rotterdam as the starting point for a Cruise to the Baltics. We really didnt know that much about Rotterdam other than it is one of the largest ports in Europe. We stayed at the Holiday Inn which is located in the heart of the city. The hotel is valued priced. The rooms were lovely, the morning breakfast was one of the best I have ever had and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. Rotterdam is one of the cleanest cities that I have ever visited. Its a friendly city with lots of parks and open spaces and the architecture is amazing. We enjoyed the restaurants, the shopping, the museums and we could easily walk to all of the major parks and the water ways surrounding the port. The city has water taxies and you can easily take tours using them, public transportation or tour companies to quickly take day trips to Delft, Hague, and the heritage wind mill site Kinderdisk and in season tulip park Kukenhof. These are world class sites and it is easy to spend a day in each location. So if you are planning a visit Holland put Rotterdam on your to do list as you will not be disappointed. Also if your cruise leaves from Rotterdam go early and enjoy this wonderful city. You would not be disappointed.

This is a very good trip. We were staying at Rotterdam in early April, and this trip became a very nice journey for us to depart from Rotterdam to Keukenhof, instead of travelling to Amsterdam first and heading towards Keukenhof. As we hopped on the tour bus from Rotterdam, we also had a chance to by pass Den Haag, and has a short sightseeing while waiting for other tourists. Our tour guide is very nice and helpful and explained to us about history of the Keukenhof, as well as for other places as our tour bus passes by during our travel to the flower fields. It was a very nice sunny day. Our tour guide also explained where we can see tulips and where we would not want to miss. The meeting spot for us to meet her afterwards is clear. It was a pleasant trip and we do recommend this day trip to other visitors, especially those considering to travel from the South Holland.

We took this tour upon arrival by cruise ship. At the end of the day comparing notes with others who joined the boat's bus, we learned just how fabulous our ride was in comparison. The buses were located just across the bridge from the dock. It was an easy 10 or 15 minute stroll and pleasant way to start the day. The bus was clean and modern. The commentary by Monique on the way out was informative and presented professionally. We stopped for photo opportunities both coming and going. We had ample time to tour the gardens leisurely. Our return was equally pleasant and we were dropped off right at the pier. A wonderful experience made even better by this company, guide and driver. Thank you!
