Overview

Combine total relaxation with stunning sightseeing on a 10.5-hour Santorini caldera cruise and sunset visit to Oia. Laze on deck and admire the scenery as you sail around the caldera, and stop to visit Nea Kameni’s crater, swim in hot springs, and relax, explore, and eat (own expense) on Thirasia Island. Lastly, watch a stunning Santorini sunset from the clifftop town of Oia.
  • Full-day Santorini caldera boat trip and Oia sunset visit
  • Admire Santorini’s black cliffs and white towns as you sail on the caldera
  • Visit Nea Kameni’s crater and swim in the hot springs at Palea Kameni
  • Swim, eat (own expense) or explore the town of Manolas on Thirasia Island
  • Visit Oia to watch a beautiful sunset from the clifftops
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off from Thira, Perissa and Kamari included
After hotel pickup in Thira, Kamari or Perissa, travel by air-conditioned vehicle to Athinios port. Here, board the King Thiras, the modern and comfortable boat set for your cruise, and relax as you sail into Santorini’s caldera.

Take in the island’s black cliffs and whitewashed towns as you cut through the waves to your first stop, Nea Kameni Island. Here, climb the path to see the still-active volcanic crater before cruising on to Palea Kameni, another caldera island.

Drop anchor here, and if you wish, swim in the sulphur-rich hot springs that seep into the sea. Alternatively, just enjoy a paddle or admire the views from the boat.

Next, sail to Thirasia, an island that was part of Santorini before the cataclysmic volcanic eruption of 236 BC. Go ashore and enjoy two hours’ free time to swim from the beach, have lunch (own expense), or explore the clifftop town of Manolas, with its winding steps and traditional houses.

Back aboard, cruise to Amoudi, situated below the clifftop town of Oia. Disembark and climb the steps to Oia to experience a spectacular Santorini sunset from the cliffsides.

Your day trip then ends with a drop-off at the start point.
Itinerary
Pass By:
Santorini Volcano
Starting by bus from the pick-up point we arrive at the port of Athinios where we board the boat King Thiras. Our first stop is at the Volcanic Island of Nea Kameni where you walk up the ascending soil path and approach the crater of the still active Volcano to reach the crater. After reaching the crater you walk down the dirt path to the boat to continue our journey to the Island of Palea Kameni where the boat stops for around 50 meters from the opening and you can swim in the green sulphur waters of the hot springs, wet your feet or just enjoy the view. The journey continues after the hot springs to Thirassia Islandwhich was once part of Santorini before the big Explosion of the Volcano. There you stay for two hours and you have the opportunity to do some activities like swimming on the beach of Thirassia, have lunch next to the Sea or just explore the Village of Manolas with its winding steps and traditional houses. Leaving Thirasia island, King Thiras will sail under Oia, on the way back to Athinios port, where you may take wonderful pictures of the cliffs and the breathtaking scenery. The tour continues with a bus transfer to Oia Village for the sunset. The tour ends 30 minutes after the sunset. We will gather at the pickup point in Oia where the bus will be waiting to take you back to the point you started the excursion.

We were very disappointed with this...

We were very disappointed with this tour, firstly our pickup was 20 minutes late. Then the boat was overloaded, with very little space to sit and certainly not enough space to relax. The group was far too big for the walk up to the volcano and we had to keep stopping to allow people to catch up, since it took so long for everyone to get off the boat, then pay the entrance fee 2.5 euro. It would also have been nice to have been told to bring water and appropriate footwear. The so called sunset part of the trip consisted of us being dropped at the port in Oia 2.5 hours before sunset and told to walk up the steps and where to meet after sunset. Overall the tour was a total waste of a day, stressful and disappointing - we thought we would have a chance to just relax and enjoy the caldera - instead we were just packed into the boat like sheep. Don't book this tour - pay more and book a different one.

Just Okay... Tour Started from valcano island... after 30-40 mins climbing you will not see any valcano but a good view from top.... hot springs - they will stop the boat for 20-30 minutes for swimming. you can jump from boat if you know the swimming or wait in the boat... not worth it Thirasia Island - good place for snacks but you cant swim because of rocks... Visit Oia - best place for sunset
