Travel from Skagway to Canada’s Yukon territory in style, aboard a vintage Gold Rush–era train on this guided day tour. During your Skagway train ride through the Alaskan and Canadian wilderness, soak up views of waterfalls, mountains, glaciers and rivers. Your route takes you along the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway, named an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. In Yukon’s town of Carcross, explore the Bennett Station House museum for more insight into Gold Rush history. A visit to the gorgeous Emerald Lake and lunch aboard the train are included.
  • Round-trip train and bus journey from Skagway to Carcross in the Yukon
  • Ride aboard a replica vintage Gold Rush–era train along the route traveled by the Klondike stampeders
  • Enjoy views of the remote Alaskan and Canadian wilderness including mountains, plains, rivers and glaciers
  • Have lunch on board the train between Bennett and Carcross
  • Visit beautiful Emerald Lake, arguably the most-photographed lake in Yukon!
Following morning pickup at your hotel in downtown Skagway, board a mini-coach and travel along the picturesque Klondike Highway.

Arrive at the train station and climb on board a vintage replica of a Gold Rush-era passenger train. Take a seat as the engine departs for your 68-mile (109-km) journey to Carcross along the Yukon Route Railway and the White Pass.

Just like the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower, this railway, constructed in 1898, has been designated an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.

As the train chugs along the same route traveled by the Klondike 'stampeders', keep your camera ready for sweeping vistas of the remote Canadian and Alaskan wilderness.

Disembark at the Bennett Station House, built in the 1900s and now fully restored. Only accessible by this rail line, the station house has been re-imagined as a museum. Take a self-guided walking tour of the historical displays and memorabilia.

As you travel from Bennett to Carcross, enjoy lunch on board. See Itinerary section for a sample menu.

Continuing down the tracks in to the Yukon Territory, pause to explore the Matthew Watson General Store. Imagine what supplies the stampeders were shopping for while you peruse the goods at the region's oldest operating store. Take a look around historic Carcross before traveling to Emerald Lake via ground transportation; bring your camera for wonderful photo ops.

Back on the train, start the reverse journey back to Skagway, listening to your guide's stories about the history of this train line along the way.

Disembark in Skagway for drop-off back at your hotel.
