Why Travelers Choose This Tour
Traveling by speedboat lets you see more in less time, while a small group size keeps cave wait times short.
This island hopping excursion was our best in Croatia. It was a bummer that we didn't get to see the Blue Cave due to a film crew but the driver took us to the green cave and Brac to make up for it. Vis and Hvar were our favorites! Croatia is so beautiful!
This was the worse tour we've ever took. Firstly, the arrangement was horrible - they put 10 of us in a tiny speedboat, with no proper seating and covering. Secondly, due to the terrible wind and waves (which they said was above what they predicted), we had the bumpiest and scariest 90 minutes ride before reaching our first stop. The other stops were close by so we could hang on until it was time to head back to Split in the evening. Believe it or not, the ride back was 100 times worse since the waves only got stronger. It was beyond pain and all the driver could say was, 'Don't worry, I've been i worse', 'You know, it is what it is' etc. When we got back, which took again 90 minutes, all we could say was 'Thank God we're still alive'. And on top of that, the driver was asking us to give him a good review!! Don't get me wrong, the islands were beautiful, but it was definitely not worth risking our lives. If only they had given us a bigger boat, that would have been far better. My suggestion, don't take this tour. Take the catamaran, which is a huge boat, safe and takes the same time to get to Hvar.
The meeting point was at the harbor of Split (5min walk from the promenade) and everything was well organized. There were several tour guides that checked the names and distributed the people to different speedboats. At departure (in time), it was unclear whether the Blue Cave will be closed due to the windy sea at that day and they told us that in case it will be closed, we would get a partial refund (but luckily, it was not closed). The sea was not smooth at this day, so the island hoping was really a hopping onto the waves with sometimes rough strokes (the smaller the boat, the more sensitive to waves). So you should not take this trip if you have back pain or are scared of getting wet. However, I felt myself really safe during the trip and it was fun. After the blue cave, we visited two additional islands (we skipped the swimming part as the water was too cold) where our tour guide (and captain) gave us a brief introduction before releasing us into our free-time. Due to the small group size, everyone was always on-time, so no waiting for delayed people (which might happen in larger groups).
The weather was not very accommodating. There were 30-40 knot winds and fairly rough seas. The captain boasted about how they were the only company going out and that we would not know about the cave tour until we got to the first island. The seas we're so rough that the Blue Cave tour was cancelled. We only visited three islands and the last leg of the trip was so rough we had to turn back and take a bus trip back. Although the seas were rough and we got soaked, the worst part was that we had to pay out or of pocket for the return bus tickets and it took an additional 1.5 hrs to return to our hotel. One additional points was about the guided part. There was no guide. We we're told some info before getting off the boat but we're not guided through the walking parts of the tour. We did get a ~45% refund but the tour probably should have been cancelled with a full refund due to poor and risky weather before we got on the boat.
We had such an excellent time on this tour. While the water was very choppy on our way to Brac, our Skipper and his companion, Vanna, made sure we arrived as comfortable and safe as possible. The islands were breathtaking and the weather cleared up enough so we could go swimming in the Blue Lagoon (in lieu of the Blue Cave - the waves were too high and it was closed). Due to the Blue Cave being closed, we were refunded as well, for the cost of that attraction. We highly recommend this experience for anyone who loves to explore and to see a few of the over 100+ islands of Croatia!
It should be advised when windy, sitting in the back left will leave you soaked. Dress for wetness, wish there would have been a notice about this. Itinerary was changed as blue caves were closed, but they did issue a refund for that portion.
Boat was not great. Got wet while coming back. Couldnt enter the caves due to high water level, even though the weather was sunny and the skies were clear.
The pace was a bit too much for us. We did nto get enugh time to explore the islands. We either had to choose between having food or exploring the islands, so that was a bummer.
The guide was great though
unfortunately the tour company could not do this tour exactly due to the weather, however we did still have a lovely day out and the company issued a refund for the difference in cost without me having to ask.
My favourite day in Croatia! Wow! What a lovely tour! We saw beautiful caves and islands, had a snorkel stop snorkels provided, swam in to Stineva beach, and had some free time on the island of Vis and Hvar. The speed boat ride is pretty fast but definitely worth it if you can do it! Absolutely stunning day! :
Spiro and Barbara were great guides for this day and the speedboat was brilliant fun and expertly piloted by Spiro who seemed to be much quicker than the other boats :. The islands are beautiful and the stops for swimming and snorkellng perfectly timed in the beautiful blue waters off the coast. A great day out.
