Overview

Make the most of your free time in Tallinn and take a tour of the city to discover its charms with a guide. After stopping for photos in Kadriorg Park and the Pirita seaside, you’ll venture into Tallinn Old Town to discover fairy tale architecture and sights such as Toompea Castle. A coffee and pastry are included, as is transport from the port.
  • Guided shore excursion in Tallinn
  • Use your time in port for a sightseeing tour of the Estonian capital
  • Visit Kadriorg Park, Pirita, and the Song Festival Grounds
  • Explore Tallinn Old Town on a walking tour and relax with a coffee
  • Gaze down at the Lower Old Town from Toompea Castle
Arrange your start time with the local operator after you book, then head to the Tallinn cruise port’s gate to meet your guide.

As you travel away from the port by air-conditioned bus, you’ll learn about Tallinn and the sights covered by your itinerary. Your first stop is Kadriorg Park, home to Kadriorg Palace — an impressive building created by Tsar Peter the Great for Catherine I. Hop out to take photos by the Pirita seaside, walk in the Song Festival Grounds, and see the Olympic village that was created in Soviet style.

Tallinn Old Town beckons, so head into the historical center next to discover its beautifully preserved medieval architecture. After a short break for souvenir shopping or eating, you’ll continue with a walking tour from Toompea Castle of the Upper Old Town. Take a look inside Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, then relax with a coffee and pastry before you check out the delights of the Lower Old Town.

Admire the fortified town wall and its 25 towers as well as the town hall and one of the world’s oldest pharmacies. See Catherine’s Passage, then finish your tour by the Viru Gates — home to a large car-free area that’s perfect for independent shopping or sightseeing. Your experience ends back at the start point.

The tour was very very good. The guide was very knowledgeable and the transport very comfortable. We pick this tour over the Cruise ship tour because in included more and was less cost. It was the first time we used Viator and would not hesitate to book with them again.

I can not recommend this tour group enough. Professional, sleek and well managed. However I spent an hour on the phone with them trying to unravel the mess VIATOR (who sold the ticket) created!!! I used all my phone battery and credit trying to sort out the mess of VIATOR made with the WRONG instructions on the ticket we all print out!!!! VIATOR had me follow instructions from disembarking a cruise ship!!!!! I was on the Ferry from Helsinki!!! The tour group said they have asked VIATOR to please CHANGE THE INSTRCUTIONS, but VIATOR refuse!!! WHY!?!?!?!?! THYERE WRONG!!!!!!!!!! Unfair, unprofessional and traumatising. You should be ashamed of yourself VIATOR for putting people through what you did to me. Shame on you and your un-professionalism. Call the tour group and DO NOT TRUST VIATORS INSTRUCTIONS - THEY HAVE BEEN WRONG FOR A LONG TIME!!!!!!

We did this Shore excursion as we only had a shortish day in town. Our guide was Marianne ( I think that’s correct) and omg she was just the best, a beautiful lady who knew her stuff inside and out. I do believe this tour wouldn’t have been anywhere near as good without her. What a beautiful beautiful place is Old Town Tallinn, the gorgeous buildings, the little cobblestone lanes. This tour was awesome , we never felt rushed, she walked at a great pace and explained everything , answered questions and made sure we had a little time to look around on our own a couple of times in case u wanted to but anything. We had a beautiful break at a cafe a coffee/tea and pastries and I mean great pastries, 2 big ones actually and they were fabulous . I think this is the first time I have used SPB but they were awesome. It was only a small group tour and the others on the tour were also Aussie’s who said they use SPB all the time , they are great . Thank you Marianne for making our day in Tallinn one of the best day trips off the cruise in the Baltic’s region

We took the tour of Tallin / Estonia tour while on a Princess cruise Friday August 23. our tour guide was patient, knowledgeable, on time. Unfortunately I did not keep his name but Im sure you can look it up via res. We used Viator in the past and most likely will use them in every port from now on.

Another phenomenal excursion! Our tour guide, Triin was awesome and she used a lot of her own personal experiences and stories to describe the places we were at. The tour came with an authentic medieval snack coffee / tea and Meat pie and Apple Pie in a great themed restaurant. After visiting the old town, we toured the new part of Tallinn and saw Swan Lake and the Catherine's Palace and Garden. We even went to the Prime minister's house. This excursion was way better and cheaper than what the cruise was offering and I'm so glad we went with this tour company.
