I booked the full-day tour for my family 2 adults and 2 kids. They picked us up from the hotel in the morning and drove around 2 hours till we reached Gudauri mountain. The guide was a gentleman but didnt have good command of English. He lead us to a place to gear up for skiing i.e. ski boots and rods only no thermal outfits provided as given in some other skiing resorts in other countries than Georgia, so you should go fully dressed yourself. My kids are very good at skiing, but it is me and my husband who thought of hiring a trainer for 1 hour at additional cost that is not included in the tour cost. We found out later that the trainers there are so commercial, they do not give you good tips, they just help you to wear your boots and take you photos while sliding helplessly and while falling! Hiring a trainer is not quite recommended.
However, for us as adults we had different type of fun, we enjoyed the cable cars. The resort itself was very good, it had 2 big and wide slopes with different heights to add more adventurous experience for good skiers, there are good cafes both in the middle of the mountain and others at the top all serving good drinks, snacks and food with good loud music in the air adding fun ambiance to the place. In addition to small markets offering local handcrafts and snacks. We enjoyed sitting in those cafes, roaming in the place and riding on/off the cable cars while watching our kids having fun skiing all the time around the place. Although the slopes are big, yet it is safe with emergency points down, in the middle and at the top. The open space and view of the mountains was also great.
First of all, the original tour was changed to the other suggested tour which didn't went well to our expectations.
The bus and the services were so so and the inclusions were not very well discharged. We didn't get worth to our money. We disappointed in total.
