Experience the scenic highlights of the Scottish Highlands on a full-day trip from Inverness to Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve, Loch Maree, Applecross, and the picturesque Eilean Donan Castle, which stands at the confluence of three lochs. Travel by luxurious mini-coach with a small group that’s limited to six people, and learn about highland history, culture, and wildlife along the way.
  • Full-day tour of the Scottish Highlands from Inverness
  • Visit Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve
  • Watch for golden eagles at Loch Maree
  • Explore a historic castle on a tidal island
  • Travel by luxury mini-coach
  • Small group tour limited to 6 people
Meet a driver at a central location in Inverness for an 8:30am departure, then board a comfortable mini-coach for the trip to Kinlochewe and the Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve, the oldest national nature reserve in Britain.
Upon arrival, you’ll take in the stark line of Beinn Eighe Ridge, then continue to Loch Maree, an island-dotted freshwater loch that’s home to a population of golden eagles. Follow a dramatic route to the villages of Torridon and Shieldaig, with spectacular views from the coach.
Take a break for lunch in Applecross—this tour doesn’t include meals, but the guide can help you find the perfect place to eat. Following your lunch break, meet back up with the guide for the trip to Eilean Donan Castle, passing views of the Isle of Skye and the Inner Hebrides. You’ll have roughly 1.5 hours to explore the picturesque castle, whose dramatic history includes clan fighting, executions, and a series of Jacobite Risings (castle entrance fees own expense, roughly £7.50).
This full-day tour concludes with the return trip to Inverness, and drop-off at the original departure point at 7:30pm.

The only thing missing from this day trip was if we had seen Nessie the Loch Ness monster. It started as a foggy dreary day for us but as the day went along the weather just got better and better. The snow covered peaks of the Torridon Mountains were spectacular. Having lunch in Applecross was superb. Local scallops, langoustine and salmon were so fresh and cooked to perfection. We saw sheeps galore just hanging out on the side of road and I can never forget seeing the Highland cows up close and personal. Seeing Eilean Donan up close was breathtaking. Actually the whole day was full of absolutely spectacular scenery. Our tour guide was the lovely Emelie. She had the best personality, very informative, one heck of a driver and great sense of humour too. We recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see and learn about what the highlands are all about especially if you had a guide like Emelie who will take you through to an unforgettable day.

This tour was absolutely wonderful. It is a primarily scenic tour that takes place on a Sunday which is perfect because so many things are closed on Sunday, but you can't close nature. The Torridon Hills are bucket list worthly beautiful. The lunch stop is at a lovely pub type restaurant with very good food and a nice selection of Scottish beer. Tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

It was amazing! The views on this tour are just breathtaking. We had Emily as tour guide, she told us stories, talked-about the history of the places we visited, she is a human encyclopedia . For lunch break we stopped at Applecross Inn, to my surprise they have vegan food. Good job Rabbie's!

This tour exceeded my expectations, originally I was going to book the popular Isle of Skye but decided on this tour to Torridon and Applecross instead as I wanted to go somewhere different. The mountains and scenic drive left me speechless, you really do have to go and see it yourself! Since this tour wasn't very popular, there were only 5 of us on the tour which I am glad as our brilliant tour guide for the day Helen who kept us entertained by playing traditional Scottish music and telling us all about the Scottish history and culture left us stop and take pictures for longer and admire the views. Stopped at a quaint village at Applecross to have lunch, the seafood is supposed to be very good as there is a salmon farm not too far. I had a vegetable linguine which was delicious! At the Apple Inn restaurant they also cater for vegetarians so no need to be concerned. I was lucky enough to have glorious weather for the entire day, although it started off with being cloudy. It was a long day well spent indeed and survived driving along Britain's most dangerous road with breathtaking views! Rabbie's tour was better than I thought and a really reliable tour company too! So instead of going to the popular and overated tour to isle of Skye, why not this tour? It is excellent and won't leave you disappointed! We even got to stop over and get a glimpse of Isle of Skye too!
