Meet your private guide at the welcome center by the gates of the Arlington National Cemetery. Your tour starts at 10am sharp, so please make sure to show up a little before your departure time. This is a private tour, so please list any special interests you have at time of booking to alert your guide, so that he or she can better prepare for your private tour.
Your private guide first leads the way through the Arlington National Cemetery, telling historical facts, and stopping at famous gravesites and memorial areas. See the burial spots of many lost soldiers from the American Civil War, as well as famous people like John F. and Jacqueline Kennedy, Robert McNamara, and Thurgood Marshall. Visit the Tomb of Unknowns, and catch a glimpse of Arlington House, the former home of Robert E. Lee.
After your time in the cemetery is up, take a break to eat lunch (own expense). Then, hop on a private vehicle for the ride over to the National Museum of American History.
At the museum, your guide knows the fastest ways around, so you can see more in the amount of time you’re there. This museum traces the rise of the United States through a unique collection of objects, including the star-spangled banner that inspired the country’s national anthem. Learn about how Hollywood helped shape the country into what it is today, and get a peek at Dorothy’s ruby-red slippers from The Wizard of Oz worn by actress, Judy Garland. See George Washington’s sword, and other historical artifacts housed only here.
Please note: A minimum of two people per booking is required.
