Our first stop brings you to a village established in the 1530s. We will be welcomed into the home of an artisan who has worked with jade for over 40 years. After learning about the sourcing and history of jade in Guatemala, you will be able to select your own jade stone and polish it into a small take-away charm. On our second stop, you will meet an artisan who has worked with leather since he was a young boy. He can make the most beautiful pair of handmade leather boots you've ever seen! Learn about the process of boot making from start to finish. Last, we will enjoy a light, local lunch. Our weavers will give a backstrap loom demonstration and you will be guided through a collection of beautiful, authentic examples of traditional Guatemalan dress. As we finish our walk through the farm we will drive back to Antigua, where we will visit two coffee shops to take two workshops where we will play with your senses and teach you all about coffee from our coffee experts, all this while learning the best-kept secrets of the streets of Antigua. Finally, we will go to a craft brewery, to enjoy a refreshing beer with notes of coffee and learn about the use of coffee beans in other products. By the end of the Coffee Crawl, not only will you meet new people and take your knowledge of coffee to the next level, but we will have lots of fun!
