Pickup from your accommodation in Arequipa around 03:00am to start our journey to one of the deepest canyons in the world, taking the Yura road, bordering the Chachani mountain towards Pampa Cañahuas habitat of the beautiful South American camelids, the vicuñas. Approximately, at 6:00 a.m. we will arrive at the town of Chivay; where we will enjoy our breakfast and then we will continue our drive for about 1 hour to arrive at Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, strategic point of observation of the Canyon and the spectacular flight of the Condor. We will return to the town of Chivay for lunch and to rest walking through the little streets. At 2:00 pm we will start our drive back to Arequipa, along the way we will visit the highest point between the Colca Canyon and Arequipa: Patapampa (4800m), from this place we can see the volcanic mountain range. We will be back to our accommodation in Arequipa around 5pm

Salinas lake is an amazing place located at 2:30 from Arequipa, is a perfect option to spend a day in the nature. Will see llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and flamingos. Rainy season is from January to March, after May is possible to see the salt flats, but any time of the year the mountain landscape is beautiful, and very quiet. Will visit the hot springs.Pick up time is from 7:30 am, and we are back in Arequipa around 3:30 pm. For groups of 6 people we use a 4wd vehicle, for 7-12 groups, we use a minivan. Price is the same. It is required a minimum of 2 people for booking the tour, please ask for availability if you are a solo traveller.

You can see vicuñas and vizcachas (andean rabbit) and if you are lucky you can sometimes see the andean foxes. Here we can see the three different species of flamingos, you can see only in this lagoon and not in any other part of the world. to be more specific this doesn’t occur in the ´flamingos lake’ it is more famous than africa, (nakuru and naivasha, in kenya) and here you can only observe the two species.
