From the capital, we are travelling to the main tourist attraction in Macedonia, the town of Ohrid. Called Jerusalem on The Balkans, Ohrid is the centre from where Christianity was spread in these lands. Ohrid is also, the centre of Slavic culture and literacy, where, in the 9th century, the first University in Europe was founded. Ohrid lies on the shores of the oldest lake in Europe, Lake Ohrid.
