Eden Brown Estate Tours

Listen to one of Nevis’ homegrown ghost stories before setting off to explore this supposedly haunted backdrop. The Eden Brown Estate is a government-owned mansion, originally established as a sugar plantation in 1740. The great house and outbuilding still stand in various states of disrepair, surrounded by encroaching wildflowers, but the real reason people visit is the look for signs of the reputed ghost who lingers on as described in local lore. The story says that in 1822 Julia Huggins was about to marry her fiancé when the groom and his best man killed each other in a duel. Julia became a recluse and is said to still walk the grounds, lonely to this day.
