We will begin and end at Wacker Brewery. Guests will need to provide their own automobile. I will guide you via Bluetooth, including the former Sprenger Brewery, 2nd Gear Taproom, Rieker Bottling works, and other sites in between. You will experience the interwoven and fascinating connections of 19th century German Brewers to the history of Lancaster. Often described as the Munich of the U.S., Lancaster at times produced as much as 20% of the nation’s beer. Through intriguing stories and insights you will learn how industry, architecture, arts, and culture enjoy a rich and symbiotic relationship with Lager Beer. You’ll visit catacombs and resurrected breweries, the unlikely industrial site that drove German immigration, the original saloon of one of the most prominent breweries of the time, and the literal end of the line for prohibition trickery. And just to make it interesting, we will be sampling the fruits of 165 years of experience along the way!
