The cuisine of Transylvania is a mosaic that reflects the multicultural gastronomic and cultural influences of the populations and various trends in society. In our region, we have 11 different cultural influences: on the one hand of those who lived here (Romanians, Saxons, Hungarians, Armenians, Hebrews and Roma), on the other hand influences of surrounding, regional or historical powers and authorities (Austrian, Turkish, Russian, French and Greek). Our walking food tour takes you during the 4.5 hours from through the UNESCO protected citadel (Burg) and to the Lower old centre. You will have the chance to taste some exclusive local products and try our recipes. The price includes the food and drink tastings as well as the English-speaking guide. You’ll also receive a map of Sighișoara and five old recipes from the area. We also recommend you to bring a bottle of water as we walk for a while. Our tour will be outside for most of the time.

For something truly different in Transylvania, venture deep into the eastern Carpathian Mountains on an outdoor adventure in the Varghis Canyon. This small-group tour takes you through a winding rocky passage, across wooden bridges, and inside several ancient caves. Rock climbing is also an option for an extra adrenaline boost. Back in civilization, visit a family-run dairy farm to learn about an important local industry and taste gourmet cheeses.
