Encircled by the vast Staz forest, Lake Staz (Lej da Staz) takes on a mythical ambiance with its floating islands of marsh clover and towering reeds. An easy 30-minute walk from St.Moritz leads to the lake, passing through some incredible mountain scenery, or if you fancy an alternative, horse-carriage rides are possible on the pathways surrounding the lake.

Basking in the warmth of the Engadin valley, Lake Staz is the perfect open-air swimming venue and draws hundreds of swimmers to its shores throughout the summer. Picnic spots abound by the lakeside, or the Hotel Restaurant Lej da Staz serves up some delicious homemade ice cream. Visit in the winter months and you can make use of the ice skating rink too.
