The tour was well organized, our tourist guide was great, friendly. He provided us not only with detailed information about Aix history, but as well added local stories. Wineries were cca 1 hour driving from Aix, what gave us opportunity to see the countryside.
Beautiful tour and worth doing. Half-day felt a bit rushed, hence the 4 star. The vineyards choices weren't out of this world. The wine was good not great. However, the rose were very Provencal or at least that's what our tour guide said.
This was a good, quick way to visit a few of the wineries in the Aux en Provence region. We only went to 2 wineries, but when you only have 3 hours its doesn't leave you much time. First winery we visited was fantastic, we took a behind the scenes tour and literally drank for the tap. We walked on top of the tanks and were able to look down into the tanks and see what was going on inside. We also had a chance to view them bottling, labeling and packing wine in cases for delivering. That was a bonus. The second winery we went to was very low key, in fact our tour guide pretty much took over and served us and told us about that particular winery. Good little tour if you only have a few hours and for wine tasting. Rose is a very different tasting wine than many of your american wines.
Great tour guide. She was very knowledgeable in the history of the area as well as the wine. We went to two fantastic vineyards and sampled 6-8 wines at each of them as well as olive oil at one of the vineyards. At the end of the tour, the tour guide gave us recommendations for lunch restaurants.
Guide was lazy, uninterested, boring, on her phone, scolding and retuned me to starting point an hour early. No history, no enthusiasm, she seems like she was on auto pilot . Thank goodness for the other guest and also the two winery's staff did a good job.
Guide was excellent, funny and very informative. Well organised relaxed tour. Could benefit by limiting the technical process explanation to just one winery, rather than both. View and tasting was excellent.
Nice compact tour experience. Tour guide was patient and helpful. She answered our questions on the local area and the local wine making traditions with the right level of detail for our tour group. Vehicle was comfortable and clean. The wineries we visited provided interesting and insightful descriptions of their business and traditions. Scenery was beautiful, we thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
We had a wonderful time. Our guide, Renaud, was very informative and had a very likable personality. We especially enjoyed the tour of Mas De Cadenet winery with Maude, a 7th generation owner! I wish we'd had time to go on other available tours.
