Your full-day tour of Auckland begins with pick-up from your central hotel and a scenic drive through the city to the North Shore. Admire views across Waitemata Harbour as you cross the famous Auckland Harbour Bridge and arrive in the lively seafront village of Devonport. Hop out to stretch your legs and take photos as your guide points out the Auckland skyline to the south, then drives you to North Head to enjoy views of the volcanic Rangitoto Island.
Cross back into central Auckland and follow the Tamaki Drive, a dramatic coastal road that winds its way along Waitematā Harbour to Misson Bay. Along the way, pass the glitzy waterfront of Viaduct harbor; spot the iconic Sky Tower looming above the buildings; and stop at lookout points like Achilles Point and Bastion Point.
Next, pay a visit to Cornwall Park to see the legendary One Tree Hill, where your guide will tell you all about the crater hill and its significance to the Maori people. Another beautiful park is the Auckland Domain in the Parnell neighborhood, where you’ll have chance to admire the Wintergarden. Then, get a glimpse of local life as you drive through Ponsonby, one of Auckland’s hippest neighborhoods, and perhaps peek into the shops along Ponsonby road.
After lunch (own expense), it’s time to head out of the city towards the wild west coast and Muriwai Beach. Breathe in the sea air as you stroll the black sand beach, then head to the southern end of the beach to visit one of New Zealand’s most important Gannet breeding colonies. There’s just time to make a stop at one of the wineries along the Kumeu Wine Trail for a wine tasting (included) before heading back to the city. Finally, your tour ends with drop off at your hotel.

Nick was our tour guide. He made the day fun as well as interesting. He showed us what Auckland means to him and how proud he is of his country. I would recommend this tour for anyone who wants to get an overview of Auckland.
We were a group of 8 and driver Dave was waiting for us as we got off the ship. The tour was fabulous and Dave has a tremendous sense of humor and excellent information of Auckland. I highly recommend this tour and get Dave as yoru river.
This was a superb tour. We ended up being the only 2 people on the tour so our guide really went out of his way to personalize our experience. We are very interested in horticulture so it was great to learn more about gardening and farming in the Auckland area. We were surprised by how much we got to see and how far we traveled It was a great overview of all of the different areas surrounding the City center and we came away feeling that Auckland has a great deal to be proud of. My only suggestion would be to show us on a map where we had been. I tried to figure it out when we got back to our hotel but we went to so many places, I couldn't figure it out! Very minor issue and we felt like we had a great day and the tour was well worth the money. Highly recommend this tour.
Great tour, seen lots even though weather was on n off. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Love the lookouts for great photo opportunities.
Would recommend this tour to future travellers. Ice cream shop stop and souvenir shopping was a bonus and appreciated.
This is an excellent tour for a first time visitor to get a feel for the sights in and around Auckland. Our tour guide, Nick, couldn't have been better at keeping us entertained with his stories and descriptions of what we were viewing. During the tour, he overheard me talking about a bad experience with a taxi driver when we disembarked from our cruise ship. I was worried about taking another taxi to the airport when we were leaving in several days. He then offered to pick up my wife and I and drive us to the airport on his day off. And he did it for a smaller charge than any of our other options. He didn't want us to leave Auckland with any type of bad impressions.
Great tour led by a great person.
Through no fault of Nick or the tour operator, it poured rain all day during the tour. We still had an enjoyable experience.
